2024 ATOMIC BACKLAND 100 SKIS

$749.95

Blurring the line between all-mountain and touring, the Atomic Backland 100 makes a name for itself in the increasingly expanding hybrid ski category with its impressively lightweight build and high-performance ceiling. Advanced to expert skiers have the ability to choose between a resort-only ski, touring ski or a combination of the two. Thanks to its high-quality build and use of lightweight materials, skiers benefit from a responsive flex and ideal strength to weight ratio. Using carbon instead of metal gives skiers the effortless maneuverability with still a level of stiffness and strength that enhances performance regardless of the application. Add in the all-mountain shape with HRZN tech tipsand directional tail and you get a hard charging ski that is light enough for the uphill and strong enough for the downhill.

Atomic uses their Ultra-light wood core which consists of caruba and poplar wood to give the foundation an ideal weight with a snappy, lively feel. Adding stiffness and responsiveness, a carbon backbone was added to save weight while increasing strength and enhancing the flex. Carbon is a fantastic replacement for metal in that it cuts way down on weight but still gives the ski a level of feedback and energy that you want for high performance. Rounding the construction out with fiberglass, placing layers throughout the ski to add dampening qualities and an overall consistent, smooth feel. All in all, the flex and feel of this ski mimics that of metal but does not feel heavy or demanding by any means. Intuitive and easy to maneuver, it is the ideal build for a hybrid ski.

Looking next at the shape, positive camber underfoot coupled with rocker in the tip and tail leaves ample room for flotation through soft snow and powerful exertion through chopped up crud. A tried-and-true use of technology that Atomic implements in a number of their skis, the HRZN tech in the tip increases the surface area even more, adding to the flotation and maneuverability in the shovel. Flatter in the tail with less rocker allows for strong, energetic releases from each turn and minimizing that catchy, hooky feel which you want in the backcountry. Dura cap sidewalls add to the edge grip and stability, as well as enhances durability.

The 2024 Atomic Backland 100 impressively delivers advanced to expert skiers a hybrid touring/resort ski that is lightweight, maneuverable and responsive. With a wide range of applications, this versatile ski excels in the backcountry while remaining strong and stable with a high-performance ceiling. If you spend the majority of your time touring but want a one ski to do it all, the Atomic Backland 100 is the perfect option.
