2024 LINE PANDORA 84 WOMEN'S SKI
Amazingly, Line calls this ski their “hardpack specialist” and while we mainly agree in that, since it’s the narrowest of the Pandora line, it’s still got a lot of all-mountain and freeride influence to go along with the carving aspect of the ski. As a company, Line makes some very creative skis. While we don’t want to go so far as to call the Pandora 84 one of the more basic skis of their line, it wouldn’t be that far off to do so. With a shape, build, and profile that checks a lot of boxes for a lot of skiers, this is a mainstream ski that can handle a whole lot of different terrain, snow conditions, and skier types. With a fresh topsheet and a bunch of light weight energy, the Pandora 84 is an awesome choice for intermediate through advanced all-mountain skiers.

Built with an aspenlite wood core, the Pandora 84 is off to an awesome start. Aspen already has a great blend of light weight and high energy, and they use a thinner set of wood to get the weight down one notch further. While Line uses a thicker base and edge build on some of the more freeride-oriented skis in their models, the Pandora 84 keeps it on the thinner side. As a result, the weight of the ski in the 158 hits the scale at a relatively paltry1339 grams per ski. This leads to crazy maneuverability and agility, allowing skiers to get into some tricky spots with confidence and poise at the same time. Line also uses their Capwall construction to get even more quickness out of the ski while keeping the nice topsheet looking fresh and clean all year long. There’s still sidewall underfoot for grip, but the capped portion keeps the ski incredibly manageable.

In terms of shaping, the mid-80's is a great place to be for most all-mountain conditions and terrain. Sure, it’s going to be a good carver on-trail due to the snappy energy in the build, but the camber also has a lot to do with it because it’s on the pronounced side of the spectrum for sure. When camber is more dramatic, that means energy is constructed into the ski and adds a lot more pep to the ski’s step. There’s some rocker in the tips and tails, but the ski is mainly cambered for smoother groomer performance and a longer effective edge for smoothness. The rocker is enough for easy transitions between turns, but when paired with the waist width, is more suited to on-trail skiing rather than soft snow flotation. At the same time, since it’s the narrowest of the Pandora freeride line, there’s a lot of influence here when it comes to adventurous skiing and progressing off-trail performance.
Ladies in the intermediate realm will find a lot to like about the Line Pandora 84. This ski blends on-trail edge grip and energy with freeride DNA to make it versatile and useful for a variety of snow conditions and terrain choices. Great in the trees, easy in the bumps, and light enough for popping in and out of turns with ease and confidence, the Pandora 84 is a great choice for a huge range of skiers.
