2024 NORDICA UNLEASHED 90 ICE SKI
The 2024 Nordica Unleashed 90 Ice is a fantastic twin-tip option for intermediate and advanced skiers who are looking for pure all-mountain fun. Equally at home in the park as it is in the bumps, this is one of those skis that simply brings smiles to the faces of its driver. There’s a whole world of different types of skiers out there, and while some have a difficult time choosing a ski, you could make an argument that this one solves that issue. There are a few skis on the market today that we talk about in this regard—if you don’t know what to get, get this one. The Unleashed 90 Ice fits that bill for a huge number of skiers. Light, quick, and surprisingly strong, this Unleashed 90 Ice is, quite simply, a very fun way to get around the mountain.
With a rather broad range of sizes, from 144 to 174, this ski fits both tweener and adult skiers with ease. The build of the ski is on the simple side, and we’ve often found that simple builds can sometimes be best, especially for the majority of skiers out there. Very few need the latest, greatest, and most technologically advanced ski build out there, and that’s why a more moderate construction like the Unleashed 90’s is super-handy. Built with a wood core and a vertical sidewall, there’s a lot of energy here. While it won’t be quite as damp as similarly shaped skis with metal or carbon laminates, it does just fine for itself, opening itself up to a very large middle-ground of skiers. In the 168, the ski is pretty light, tipping the scale at 1650 grams per ski, making it nimble and agile for any type of terrain.

In terms of shaping, the ski benefits from a well-rounded and highly useful90 mm underfoot width. For the vast majority of all-mountain skiers, this is all you need for both on and off-trail performance. It’s neither too wide nor too narrow to handle groomers, bumps, trees, some powder, and park. There’s a big freestyle component here with the twin tip, and when you add the underfoot shape and the mostly cambered profile to the discussion, it makes the freestyle character of the ski jump to the forefront. The ski produces a 16.6-meter turn radius in the 168, and for the most part, the Unleashed 90 Ice prefers that turn shape or shorter. Since it’s on the light side and doesn’t have a lot of damping properties to it, the high-speed carving could be construed as a limitation. But for mid-range carves and shorter skidded turns, this thing is as poppy and fun as any ski out there.
Given the lighter weight, cambered profile, and twin tip shape, the 2024 Nordica Unleashed 90 Ice is a great choice for an insanely large number of skiers. The tweener skier is in the conversation, as is the more conservative older skier that’s just looking for an easy yet energetic ski to get them from top to bottom with confidence and poise. There’s a whole lot to like about these Unleashed 90’s, and we’ve been huge fans of Nordica’s twin tips for quite some time now, and that is unlikely to change at any point soon.
