Elan
Nothing says technological innovation like an Elan ski. As the only brand on our list to build and shape skis in an asymmetric fashion, Elan can take creative liberties that no one else can. Their Amphibio construction and rocker profiles used in their Ripstick, Wingman, and Wildcat series allow for a right/left-specific ski with emphasis on downhill ski edge grip and uphill ski playfulness. By using carbon tubes, in addition to carbon strips, Elan boosts the efficacy of that material by placing it in a three-dimensional format—another thing specific to Elan. With the addition of the 2027 Elan ACE SC11+, we're seeing a movement into high-performance on-piste carving that hasn't always been prevalent from Elan within the North American market. These skis are incredibly exciting, grippy, and explosive—marking a potentially new template moving forward. If freestyle is more your thing, the light and mobile Playmakers continue to set the standard in approachability, surfiness, and fun.
