If you’re more into the exploration and adventure style of skiing, then a backcountry ski is probably up your alley. There’s a decent difference between a backcountry ski from an alpine-touring perspective and one from a Nordic viewpoint. In the Nordic world, backcountry is generally a free-heel method using skis with metal edges, a waxless base, and with a wider footprint than a lot of other cross-country skis. Our backcountry skis also come with BC bindings that feature a wider toe bar for better control when you get into some sketchier areas. We have a great backcountry selection from Rossignol and Fischer, allowing skiers to push the limits of where and how far you can ski, whether on the touring trails or blazing your own path.
