The 2025 Head Kore 111 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is a powerful and versatile setup tailored for advanced riders on the hunt for deep powder adventures. Featuring a full wood core, this ski is surprisingly lightweight while maintaining impressive agility and nimbleness despite its width. The use of carbon enhances power and stability without adding the weight of metal, making the Kore 111 an excellent choice for skiers who seek a dynamic backcountry experience, even in less-than-perfect snow conditions. We paired the 111 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.
Why we like it:
The Kore 111 excels in deep powder, delivering a fun and floaty ride. What truly distinguishes it is its ability to cut through chop, crud, and chunder with ease.
Who it's for:
Advanced and expert skiers will benefit most from the Kore 111's performance. While it may not be necessary in the East unless there’s a significant storm, it’s a no-brainer for powder days out West.
Highlights:
The Head Kore 111 stands out for its remarkable versatility and performance in deep powder, combined with power and stability to handle heavy, chopped-up snow. The ski’s Poplar and Karuba wood core ensures a lightweight feel, while carbon fibers in the form of Graphene contribute to that power and stability for smooth turns and reduced chatter without adding weight. The significant tip and tail rocker enhances the ski's playfulness, making it easy to maneuver in soft snow. The Attack 14 GW’s FR PRO3 Toe contains 30 mm of elastic travel which provides a smooth and confidence inspiring feel when tracking though variable snow while also recentering the boot to its neutral position extremely well to keep you locked in, acting almost like a suspension system. NX FR Heel pieces have 16 mm of elastic travel which assists in prevent false-releases. These heel pieces also make stepping into and out of bindings with ease, even in deep snow.
Things to consider:
Given its specialization in deep snow performance, the Kore 111 may not offer the same stability and edge grip on hardpack or groomed trails as a more all-mountain-oriented ski. Additionally, the stiffness of the 111 requires a fair amount of strength to flex, which might be challenging for lighter skiers.
Fit & sizing considerations:
The Kore 111 skis true to size. If you spend a lot of time in big open terrain, you might consider sizing up for stability, while sizing down can improve maneuverability in tighter terrain.
