DESCRIPTION

The brand-new K2 Reckoner 102 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is a versatile and playful ski designed for skiers who want to blend park creativity with all-mountain exploration. With influences from the park, freeride, and frontside categories, the Reckoner 102 is arguably the most adaptable model in the series. Its twin tip shape, playful flex, and torsional stiffness make it well-suited for a range of terrain across the entire mountain. We paired the 102 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

The Reckoner 102’s playful nature, combined with its all-mountain versatility and sheer fun factor, really impressed us. Its ability to perform in a variety of conditions while maintaining a lively, engaging feel makes it a standout choice.

Who it's for:

Advanced to expert freestyle skiers who frequent the park but want a ski that can turn the entire resort into their personal playground will find the Reckoner 102 to be an excellent match.

Highlights:

The ski features an Aspen Micro Block wood core that provides a supple flex, ideal for a surfy and playful feel in deep snow. K2’s Spectral Braid technology tailors the flex pattern, adding stiffness where needed for stability and vibration damping while maintaining suppleness for playful performance. The forebody and tails of the ski offer increased stiffness for stability on landings, while the underfoot area boasts torsional stiffness for enhanced edge grip on firmer snow. The Triaxial Braided Core enhances energy and pop, while Carbon Boost incorporates longitudinal carbon stringers into K2’s Triaxial Braid for additional rebound and responsiveness. TwinTech Sidewalls ensure durability and edge grip, and Bio-Resin adhesives reflect an environmentally friendly approach to construction. The Attack 14 GW’s FR PRO3 Toe contains 30 mm of elastic travel which provides a smooth and confidence inspiring feel when tracking though variable snow while also recentering the boot to its neutral position extremely well to keep you locked in, acting almost like a suspension system. NX FR Heel pieces have 16 mm of elastic travel which assists in prevent false-releases. These heel pieces also make stepping into and out of bindings with ease, even in deep snow.

Things to consider:

The Reckoner 102 features a soft flex, which may not make it the best choice for carving on firm snow. While it does carve effectively thanks to its torsional stiffness, it performs best in slightly softer or lighter snow conditions. The forgiving nature of its flex is great for trying new tricks but may not provide the support needed for massive impacts or extremely fast jump in-runs.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Reckoner 102 skis true to size.
