2027 Rossignol Evo 55 Action Junior Skiswith Rossignol X1 Junior Boots and Poles

A first cross-country setup a kid can actually manage is what the Rossignol Evo 55 Action Jr package is built to be, with everything you need to get your kiddo started. The ski is short by design, which is the single biggest thing that makes Nordic skiing click for a young skier, and the waxless base grips the snow for confidence on the ups. A light wood core keeps it easy to lift and easy to push. Kids get gear that cooperates on the trail instead of gear they have to grow into. [boot PKG overview]

Who it's for:

Young skiers from their first time on cross-country skis through early intermediate trail miles. It suits kids skiing groomed track and easy off-track terrain, and because the package arrives with boots and poles it's a straightforward first purchase for a family.

Things to consider:

A waxless cut pattern is convenient but never silent, and it gives up some glide next to a skin ski or a waxed one. This is also a trail and light off-track ski, so steeper backcountry terrain sits outside what it was built for.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Rossignol's short ski concept means these run noticeably shorter than a traditional Nordic ski, so use the published chart rather than adding length the way you might on an adult setup. The junior binding steps in and adjusts without tools, which covers a season or two of foot growth even after the child has outgrown the ski's length. [boot sizing specifics]
