DESCRIPTION

The 2026 Blizzard Anomaly 88 with Salomon Strive 14 GW Bindings is a no-compromise frontside powerhouse that blends elite-level carving precision with a touch of accessibility, all packaged in a sleek and intuitive design. Blizzard’s decision to keep this ski unchanged for 2026 speaks volumes—its performance on groomers and hardpack is simply that good. We paired the Anomaly 88 with the Strive 14 because of this binding’s well known reputation for safety, reliability, and ease of use. Featuring an LDN toe piece that optimizes contact and response, these bindings integrate seamlessly with boots and skis, allowing for a natural flex and balanced stance, making them the perfect choice to pair with this ski.

Why we like it:

This ski lights up every carve with explosive energy and unflinching edge hold. It’s a beast when pushed but also doesn’t fight you the way some high performance skis do. There’s a clear reward for strong input, and the way it transitions from edge to edge at high speeds is flat-out addicting.

Who it's for:

Advanced to expert skiers with a knack for carving at speed will find a lot to love here. This ski favors technique and power, making it a top pick for former racers, hardpack aficionados, and anyone who appreciates precision in their frontside turns.

Highlights:

At the heart of the Anomaly 88 is Blizzard’s Trueblend All Mountain Core, which creates differentiated flex zones to keep the ski stable when you’re charging and smooth when you’re cruising. Paired with Fluxform All-Mountain Ti laminate, you get the kind of torsional stiffness and vibration damping that translate to dependable grip and top-tier composure, even when you're topping out your speed limit. The Strive 14 GW, with its lightweight build and low-profile chassis, delivers a smooth and responsive ride all day long. It remains nimble in deep snow and light on your feet as the day progresses. The LDN Toe Pieces offer a low stand height, optimizing power transfer and improving the connection to your skis. The Automatic Toe Adaption feature effortlessly adjusts to GripWalk boots without the need for manual adjustments. Additionally, the Snow Scrapers on the toe pieces effectively remove snow and ice, ensuring a secure fit that enhances both safety and performance for direct power transmission

Things to consider:

This ski isn’t designed to coddle. If your technique or fitness isn’t where it needs to be, the Anomaly 88 may feel less like a smooth ride and more like a punishing one. It’s built to be driven, not coasted on.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Anomaly 88 skis true to size. However, if you're looking to enhance agility or reduce fatigue, going one size down is a popular move that doesn’t sacrifice too much stability.

Thoughts
Groomer ski with some ability to ski off piste. Heavily leans toward groomers though.
More metal. Not bringing this off piste anyways.
Overal Impression
Feels great. Held an edge and can push through some crud. If you like skiing fast down groomers with something more than 70mm underfoot I'd just get this ski. Its not quite the Brahma but even in Lebrons 3rd best year he was still the best player in the league.
