Back for more, the 2026 Line Optic 88 rounds out the series as the most frontside-focused ski in the Optic family. With a nimble shape, metal-reinforced core, and a fun, responsive flex, this ski is built for carving up groomers while keeping enough personality to venture confidently off-piste.
Why we like it:
It’s a carving-focused ski with just enough rocker and flair to stay creative—great edge grip and power with none of the stiffness overload you get from more demanding frontside skis.
Who it's for:
A great fit for advanced skiers who want an energetic, turny ski for the frontside that still offers versatility for trees, bumps, and variable terrain. Ideal for those who find traditional 88 mm skis too stiff or serious.
Highlights:
Built around the same Aspen veneer core as the wider Optics, the 88 brings lightness, snap, and a smooth flex to the frontside. The real story is Line’s Gas Pedal Metal Overdrive, a centrally located metal laminate that radiates outward for torsional stiffness and edge hold, without deadening the ski’s playful spirit. The result is a light-but-strong feel—at 1720 grams per ski in a 177 cm, it carves like something much heavier. A slightly raised tail gives it freeride flair, while the more conservative rocker and 16.3-meter radius make it a true carver at heart. Line has trimmed weight in the tips and tails to enhance mobility, while a thicker underfoot sidewall keeps it composed and precise when the speeds pick up.
Things to consider:
While it’s shaped like a twin tip, the Optic 88 is more of a frontside all-mountain ski than a freestyle tool. If you’re chasing a park-priority ski, this probably isn’t your daily driver.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Skis true to size. For quicker edge engagement or tighter trees, sizing down works well. Stick to your normal length for all-around balance.
