The 2026 Volkl Blaze 104 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is back and ready to blur the lines between freeride versatility and backcountry capability. With its lightweight construction and subtle updates to the flex pattern, the Blaze 104 continues to shine in soft snow while offering improved carving chops for firmer terrain. Mount it alpine, hybrid, or tech, and you’ve got a quick, responsive ski that’s light on the skintrack and lively on the descent. We paired the Blaze 104 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.
Why we like it:
We love how this ski balances the energetic, weight-conscious feel of a touring ski with enough backbone to hold its own in the resort. It’s a true quiver consolidator for soft snow conditions.
Who it's for:
Intermediate to expert skiers looking for a ski that can handle backcountry laps, sidecountry stashes, and soft snow days at the resort will love the Blaze 104’s blend of maneuverability and all-terrain readiness.
Highlights:
Volkl’s 4 Radius Drive delivers dynamic turn shaping with distinct radii at the tip, tail, and underfoot, making the Blaze 104 incredibly adaptable. The Multilayer Green Wood Core keeps things light while a Titanal Binding Platform enhances edge hold and control underfoot. Rubberized Suspension Tips and Tails smooth out variable snow and reduce chatter, while a wide shovel and generous rocker profile bring plenty of float and surf to the party. The Attack 14 GW’s FR PRO3 Toe contains 30 mm of elastic travel which provides a smooth and confidence inspiring feel when tracking though variable snow while also recentering the boot to its neutral position extremely well to keep you locked in, acting almost like a suspension system. NX FR Heel pieces have 16 mm of elastic travel which assists in prevent false-releases. These heel pieces also make stepping into and out of bindings with ease, even in deep snow.
Things to consider:
This ski skips the full-length metal of heavier chargers, so it’s not for hard-charging carvers or those seeking max stability at speed. But if you’re in the soft snow more than on boilerplate, it’s an outstanding choice.
Fit & sizing considerations:
These skis run true to size. Stick with your usual length for a balanced feel.
