2027 Volkl Blaze Junior Skiswith Atomic Colt 7 Bindings

The 2027 Volkl Blaze Junior with Atomic Colt 7 Bindings is built for young freeriders ready to go beyond the groomers and into soft-snow adventure. With a lightweight Multilayer wood core and playful twin-tip rocker profile, this ski delivers float, maneuverability, and energy in a platform designed to keep progressing kids confident and stoked—whether they’re cruising the resort or exploring first tracks through the trees.

Why we like it:

It’s easygoing and fun, but still packed with performance where it counts. The Blaze Junior offers real off-trail capability in a light, responsive package that doesn’t overwhelm developing legs.

Who it's for:

Perfect for intermediate to advanced junior skiers who are transitioning from frontside cruising to all-mountain exploring. Ideal for kids who want to play in powder, glide through trees, and try new terrain with a ski that keeps up.

Highlights:

The Blaze Junior’s Multilayer wood core strategically blends soft and hard woods to deliver a stable yet nimble ride, giving young skiers a smooth flex and confident edge hold. An 86 mm waist and wide shovel provide float in soft snow, while the tip and tail rocker design boosts agility and makes the ski easy to pivot in tight spaces. Camber underfoot adds grip and pop when skiing firmer snow, and Volkl’s signature 3D turn radius allows for versatile turn shapes across varied terrain.

Things to consider:

The Blaze Junior’s lightweight and maneuverable design make it a solid candidate for youth touring setups with the right binding. That said, newer skiers still learning the basics may benefit from a more directional, on-trail-focused ski before graduating to this freeride tool.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These skis run true to size. Select based on skier height and ability level, and keep in mind the playful rocker profile allows for some flexibility in sizing for maneuverability or float.
