The 2026 Volkl Revolt 101 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is a firm-snow weapon disguised as a freeride ski. With a thick, energetic wood core and directional shape, the Revolt 101 offers edge grip and power usually reserved for metal-laden skis—except this one ditches the metal and keeps it playful. We paired the Revolt 101 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.
Why we like it:
It’s a unicorn: a stiff, precise ski that still rips off-trail and floats when needed, all without a sheet of titanal. A rare balance of edge hold and freeride attitude.
Who it's for:
Aggressive advanced to expert skiers who want one ski that holds its own across firm and variable snow but don’t need metal to feel confident. If you’ve loved the Revolt 114 on deep days, this is your everyday ride.
Highlights:
With no metal but plenty of muscle, the Revolt 101 is powered by a dense Beech and Poplar core that brings the dampness and energy. The shape features a wide tip for soft snow float, a new pintail for smoother turn release, and a directional rocker profile that carves impressively well. Built to handle speed, mixed snow, and firm groomers alike, this ski feels planted and powerful without feeling locked in. The Attack 14 GW’s FR PRO3 Toe contains 30 mm of elastic travel which provides a smooth and confidence inspiring feel when tracking though variable snow while also recentering the boot to its neutral position extremely well to keep you locked in, acting almost like a suspension system. NX FR Heel pieces have 16 mm of elastic travel which assists in prevent false-releases. These heel pieces also make stepping into and out of bindings with ease, even in deep snow.
Things to consider:
This isn’t a freestyle Revolt. The 101 is more directional and precise, with a stiffer tail and heavier feel than its twin-tipped siblings. And while it could tour, the weight’s more Mantra than Blaze—best to keep it lift-served.
Fit & sizing considerations:
These ski a bit long, but with excellent length-to-stability performance. Only size down if you’re on the lighter side or favor a nimbler feel.
