This is the stiffest boot in Dalbello's Veloce overlap range, a frontside and all-mountain chassis with a medium-volume fit and a polyurethane shell that runs harder through the foot and softer through the cuff. An insulated, heat moldable liner and a memory foam tongue keep it livable on cold mornings and long days. Advanced and expert skiers who want an unfiltered connection to the ski will feel at home in the first few turns.

Why we like it:

The Autofit tongue is the sleeper feature here, a memory foam cushion that molds to your shin and takes the bite out of a stiff cuff. We're also fans of the PrimaLoft insulation in the liner, which is a rare thing to find in a boot this performance-oriented.

Who it's for:

Advanced and expert skiers who ski aggressively and want a boot that responds the instant they move. Medium-volume feet are the target, with an average instep and a normally shaped forefoot. Skiers who already know they like a stiff flex and want warmth to go with it will get the most out of it.

Highlights:

Start with the shell, because that's what makes this boot. Dalbello dual-injects the racing PU so the lower shell is harder and the cuff area is softer, which means the boot grabs your foot and drives the ski while still letting you get in and out without a fight. Contour 5 shaping builds extra room into the navicular, both ankle pockets, and the sixth toe area right out of the mold, so a lot of the punching a bootfitter would normally do is already handled. The MyFit system lets the liner and shell be worked on separately, and the Veloce IF Pro liner is heat moldable with PrimaLoft insulation and welded seams. Four micro-adjustable V22 buckles handle closure, and the 50mm Powerband is a tubular elastic booster that keeps the cuff loaded. GripWalk soles come premounted, the bootboard has depth markings so a fitter can grind stance changes precisely, and the rear spoiler is removable if you want to pull back the forward lean.

Things to consider:

A 130 flex is a lot of boot, and skiers who aren't putting real force into the front of the cuff will find it unforgiving; the Veloce 120 MV covers the same ground with more give. The medium-volume last is genuinely medium, so high-instep or wide-forefoot skiers should plan on shell work. There's no walk mode and no tech fittings, so this is a chairlift boot, full stop.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The 100mm last puts this in medium-volume territory, which suits an average foot with a normal instep. At this flex level, a session with a certified bootfitter is worth the money, and the Contour 5 shell gives them a good starting point to work from.
