We like the in-mold construction of this helmet which fuses the exterior shell and EPS foam for a one-piece design that's lightweight and durable, but is still paired with zonal Koroyd® coverage for lightweight, energy-absorbing and ventilated impact protection and the MIPS® Brain Protection System which reduces rotational forces caused by angled impacts to the head. Koroyd® was developed as an energy absorber in the aerospace industry. Koroyd® utilizes cylinders to create a structure that behaves differently than traditional protection material, absorbing energy by crumpling. This translates into better absorption of impact energy when compared to the traditional use if “spring” materials, which absorb energy and then release it.
