The 2023 Atomic Cloud C12 is taking precision and control to the next level this year by upping the ante as far as edge grip and torsional rigidity. Appealing to progressing intermediates and experienced racers, this 70 mm underfoot, slalom style ski is eager to leave a trail in your wake with deep trenches and arcing turns. At home on groomers and firmer conditions, the Cloud C12 is noticeably quick edge to edge, generating a 13.9 m turn radius in the 161 length. In order to deliver exceptional flex and tension necessary for top tier racing performance, Atomic incorporated a servotec rod which acts similarly to an elastic band. When pressure is placed on the ski, the technology compresses and then rebounds like a spring returning to tension. This takes your release in and out of turns to the next level as far as responsiveness and flex. For advanced skiers looking for a strong ski with maximum precision and control, the Atomic Cloud C12 will take you where you want to go.

Kristi Brown skied the 158 and found them to be short for her but did note that she was still able to thoroughly enjoy herself. For a skier of Kristi’s caliber, with an extensive racing background, she awarded this ski 4’s and 5’s across the board, with a 5 given for overall impression. With a few 4’s marked for flotation, stability, and torsional stiffness; she found them to be “The JV of the Cloud 14~Cloud dreamer turn Easer...Loving this shape that makes carving a dream come true for riding beginner quickly move into intermediate & beyond. Roll the knee in and you are linking turns in an effortless cloud playground.” A dream come true, it sounds like Kristi has found a true carver that is approachable and stable, a reaction we love to hear from a technical racer.

Testing a slightly longer length, Nifer Hoehn skied the 161 and thought it was a good size for her. Lucky for us, we have another tester coming from a pretty serious racing background, giving us the ultimate review for a ski like this. She scored 5’s out of 5 for stability, quickness, maneuverability, edge hold, torsional stiffness, playfulness and overall impression. Pretty plain to see, Nifer found a lot to love about these skis. While she did dish out a 3 for flotation, this comes as no surprise given the 70 mm waist width. She mentioned “Hot damn! These are awesome! Loved the playfulness—easy to turn and initiate, with great hold. Loved the power coming out of the turn and the stiffness. So easy to ski and so fun. Other than the graphic, these skis are a 10!” It’s very nice to see that these skis appeal to the high-end of the skier spectrum for sure.

For total carving domination, the Atomic Cloud C12 is a fantastic frontside option with an ideal waist width, impressive construction and high-end performance. Advanced to expert skiers will be thrilled with the quick edge to edge energy and strong grip, making those dynamic slalom turns prettier than ever.
