Allison Kozar tested the 155, which skied short for her. As a result, her score for flotation was affected, giving it a 2 out of 5. Other than versatility, all other scores were in the 4’s and 5’s, leaving us to believe that her overall impression was positive. Perhaps had she skied on a longer length, she would have felt that it was capable of handling various types of conditions. Her take on them was “Good ski for fast turns. They like shorter vs longer turns. Very stable at any size turn. Easy to move, and no chatter coming up the legs.” It sounds like these skis perform exceptionally well when quick, snappy turns are in favor, which is always a plus.
Susan Dorn and Brooke Mars also skied the 155 and echoed the sentiment that they skied short. Similar to Allison, this ultimately affected their scores for flotation. With a mixed bag of scores ranging from 2 to 4, both testers shared their end-all score of 3. For Susan, her overall impression was “Intermediate level ski good for someone moving up quickly. Quick and easy turning. Did well in soft stuff as well as the firm.” Highlighting the fact that these skis move quickly from edge-to-edge and can also handle various conditions leaves us feeling like we could definitely recommend them to beginner or intermediate skiers looking to enhance their skills. Brooke mentioned “I couldn’t seem to engage the full ski and felt like the tails kept washing out on all different types of terrain. Since these are shorter than what I’ve been testing this week, it’s possible I may have been over skiing them and pushing too far forward. This may be a good ski for someone that’s not too aggressive and may back off the tips.” Helpful advice here from Brooke in that this ski might suit a less-aggressive skier, one looking to play around on a light and playful ski looking to make short turns.
The Atomic Cloud Q11is a noteworthy ski for its attributes that appeal to an intermediate skier who enjoys spending the majority of their time on groomers or tight trees. When you put these skis on terrain that highlights its qualities, they really shine. Perfect for skiers looking for something approachable that they can gain confidence on.
