The 2023 Scott Pure Mission 98Ti W is a very well-rounded ski for advanced and expert-level lady skiers who want something totally versatile but with a high-performance ceiling as well. As far as all-mountain skis are concerned, the 98-mm waist width is one of the better shapes out there. Wide enough for good flotation, but narrow enough to be a capable groomer ski as well, the Mission 98Ti W loves to be used in a variety of conditions and terrain. You can take these in the woods, ski bumps, float through powder, and carve on ice all with the same ski. If you’re a one-ski type of skier, the Mission 98Ti W is worth a strong look. Built with a mix of paulownia and beech wood in the core, the Mission 98Ti W also gets two laminates of vertical carbon stringers to stiffen the flex and add energy to the ski. The titanal reinforcement runs just outside of the binding zone, damping the unwanted vibrations and increasing edge grip underfoot. The blend of lighter swing weight in the tips and tails combines well with the strong underfoot area of the ski for true all-mountain performance.

Alix Kelin skied the 175 and noted that it was a good size for her. She had some really good scores for this ski, with top marks of 5’s out of 5 given for stability, flotation, torsional stiffness, edge hold, and overall impression. For a well-rounded ski, we’re looking to see well-rounded (and high) scores like this. Her low mark of 2 out of 5 for forgiveness shows the stiffness of the carbon stringers and how they affect the flex of the ski for sure. “This ski loves to charge and make big aggressive turns, go fast and take chances. It felt stable, but had a little bit of trouble releasing a turn early but otherwise, it made medium radius turns as well.” The directional nature of the ski, combined with the stiffness of the carbon stringers, can certainly make this ski feel that way to be sure.

Also on the 175, Catherine Ferguson states that it skied true to size, and was the right size for her. She gave it 5’s out of 5 for stability, torsional stiffness, and edge hold, with 4’s for overall impression, versatility, playfulness, and flotation. Catherine notes that “This ski truly does charge! Once you get going on them you can feel the true stability kick in. In the hard packed snow, they could really carve. They would be ideal for people who really like to send it. I would recommend expert skiers for this ski because it can take a lot to put it on edge.” Between Alix and Catherine, we’re seeing two very strong skiers noting that the Pure Mission 98Ti is a pretty burly ski coming out of the turn, and it’s always nice to see conferring feedback on the same ski from similar skiers.

If you’re looking for something versatile, strong, and very energetic without tipping the scales, the Scott Pure Mission 98Ti W is a fantastic option. You should be ready for a strong kick out of the turn, but when you are able to harness that energy and make it work for you, you’ll be rewarded with predictable and versatile performance, all from one great ski.
