When it comes to stiffness and strength, the Head Kore 103 W blends the two in an impressively complimentary way. Offering all-mountain versatility in a wider-bodied platform, ladies looking for a high-performance tool that mixes light weight and stiff flex will love this ski. Returning unchanged apart from new graphics, this carbon-powered ski is the widest option in the freeride Kore family, portraying its strengths in soft snow conditions while delivering plentiful precision and strength on-piste. This line of skis has received a whole lot of attention and for good reason. It’s hard to find such a lightweight ski that offers such a high degree of stiffness and strength. For skiers who don’t want to battle a burly ski to access powerful performance, the Kore 103 W is your new best friend.

Head takes a specific approach to achieve such characteristics, relying on technology and innovation in their construction. The wood core features a blend of karuba and poplar to keep the ski light and agile. We get two sheets of carbon as well, with the bottom laminate sitting flat on top of the base, and the upper layer curved to match the chamfered shape of the ski. An interesting application here, placing carbon in a three-dimensional format which significantly increases the amount of stiffness. Already an incredibly stiff material, when shaped to align with the curve, the flex and overall feel is boosted and gives the ski a pretty hardy nature without the weight. Weighing in at 1500 grams in the 170 cm length, this is impressively light for a ski at this level of performance. Putting it to the test, Annie Macdonald “really liked this ski! The length was great in the powder but still fairly quick! Easy to stay on top of. Great overall ski.. nice dampness..forgiving but still stiff!”
The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2025 Head Kore 103 WLooking at the shape and profile, it’s clear how versatile and useful this ski is. At 103 mm underfoot, this width is a great place to be for soft snow and powder. While there are wider options out there for a dedicated powder ski, this width leaves room for on-piste precision, especially when you factor in the rest of the shape. The 132 mm tip is paired with a spoony-style shape and moderate rocker, giving it excellent flotation and maneuverability. Offering that freeride flair, we see more of a directional shape in the tail with a flatter profile. With not a lot of camber underfoot, the level of energy that is achieved is resulting from the use of carbon that is built into the ski, which is pretty cool. Generating a 15.2-meter turn radius in the 170 cm length, this allows the skier to really dictate the turn shapes and styles, providing lots of versatility. The lightweight nature of the ski allows lighter skiers with an advanced skillset the ability to get it up on a high edge angle while heavier skiers who want ease of use can benefit just as much.
Geared towards advanced to expert level skiers who prefer a stiffer flex in a lightweight body, the Head Kore 103 W blends freeride and all-mountain characteristics in a highly versatile way. Relying on carbon for the heavy lifting, it remains agile yet powerful, an ideal blend for top tier performance.
