We’re thanking our lucky stars for the 2025 return of the Head Kore 91 W. With the same successful build and high-performance nature, plus a new colorway, advanced level skiers continue to reap the benefits of a unique strength to weight ratio. An impressively lightweight construction and stiff flex puts this ski into a league of its own, rewarding those who value power and precision. With wider options available in the Kore family, the highly useful 91mm waist width provides on-piste prowess and plentiful versatility for bumps, trees, and soft snow conditions. This highly maneuverable, reactive all-mountain tool invites some freeride flair into the mix, which invites creativity as far as turn shapes and styles, as well as applications. It’s baffling what Head did here with this ski and skiers continue to scratch their head in response to the high level of performance and incredibly accessible nature.

Carrying the same great build into this year’s rendition, we see the successful use of dual-carbon laminates, graphene, and a lightweight wood core blend. As we know, carbon does a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of stiffness and reactivity without the added weight. Taking it one step further, Head uses it in a three-dimensional application that not only curves to match the chamfered edge of the ski, but significantly boots the stiffness and responsiveness as a result. When used in this format, the curved upper layer and flat lower layer work together to maximize the level of grip and energy, creating a stable yet lively feel. With damping layers underneath the core to counteract the pingy tendencies of carbon, the overall smoothness and consistency from tip to tail is nothing short of impressive. Echoing that quality, Tester Annie Macdonald found it to be “nice, damp, easy carving and turning! Really liked it and think I’d like the size up better! You can stomp on this ski and it performs for you.”
The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2025 Head Kore 91 WAs for the shape, the Kore 91 W features a moderate amount of rocker in the tips, with a 130 mm shovel compared to the 113 mm tail. With some early taper and a spoony-shaped tip, you get a soft-snow capable forebody that can confidently tackle crud and floats nicely through soft snow. With slight rocker in the tail, you do get a livelier release than a flatter, more directional shape but given the level of stiffness in this ski, it does make it feel more serious than you would expect. The generous amount of camber provides excellent edge grip and precision, allowing the skier to get it up to a high edge angle. Generating a 14.7-meter turn radius in the 170 cm length allows a range of turn shapes and styles, allowing the skier to dictate their performance.
The 2025 Head Kore 91 W achieves an impressive balance of strength and weight, allowing a somewhat specific audience access to its high level of performance. Those strong enough to bend and flex the ski will benefit greatly while lighter skiers who prefer more shallow, skidded turns will as well.
