With a new graphic for 2026, the Dynastar M-Cross 82 W is a quiet and stable all-mountain carver. Blending a smooth ride with a fun-loving shape, this highly useful ski appeals to both progressing intermediates who want predictability, as well as more advanced skiers who want to push it harder. Excelling in a shorter radius format, M-Cross 82 W fans love the wider shovel, narrower tail and grippy waist for on-trail performance. Quick and agile with plenty of power, those who want versatility are certainly not limited to off-piste terrain. This is an awesome all-mountain ski with strong front side characteristics. Great in the bumps and packed out trees, this ski is more versatile than the width lets on.

Dynastar uses a lot of engineering in their build. Construction-wise, the M-Cross 82 W starts with Dynastar’s Hybrid Core 2.0. Using poplar wood in a multi-dimensional format, the specific placement throughout the length of the ski delivers great energy and pop. The amazing thing about this technology is Dynastar mills and joins their wood laminates together using friction and pressure rather than adhesive. This not only utilizes a sustainable approach but also delivers exceptional feedback. For dampening qualities, strips of polyurethane are positioned along the outside of the core, giving the ski a particularly smooth and silent character, complimenting the lively qualities of the wood. On top of the core, we get a unidirectional fiberglass laminate and an H-Tech layer as well. As the shape implies, the power is diverted to the edges of the ski, keeping the midsection of the ski firmly planted on the snow. Weighing in at 1500 grams per ski, this is nice and light despite the impressive use of materials. Tester Megan Papineau states “Short but so sturdy and reliable!! I’m not sure I’d ever need to own these but if I wanted to make lovely groomer turns all day, I would, but I can also kind of rip on them! The narrow width though kinda limits the versatility.”

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2026 Dynastar M-Cross 82 W

These skis have more of a pin tail feel to them. For the shape, the shovel really attracts the majority of the attention as it is significantly wider than the tail, and for the waist width. For dimensions, the 167 cm length measures at 129/82/111 mm and generates a 13-meter turn radius. With so much surface area in the forebody, the E-Cross 82 delivers strong initiation while maintaining enough torsional stiffness to get up on edge with ease. Smooth and agile, the ease-of-use trickles down through the tail, with the performance smooth and complying rather than punishing. Tester Cat Faltudo notes that they are “playful skis that make smooth and buttery turns in soft snow. Skis wider than its width.”

Playful ski, makes smooth buttery turns in soft snow.

There are a lot of skiers who will enjoy the crispness and energy of these skis. The Dynastar M-Cross 82 W made such a statement last year that it returns unchanged for the 2026 season and we couldn’t be happier. With quickness underfoot and powerful stability along the long effective edge, carving enthusiasts will value the full scope of performance. There’s nothing better than an incredibly useful, capable ski for all-mountain purposes, and this ski deserves an award. As an “intermediate” ski, these punch way above their level.
