The 2026 Rossignol Hero Elite MT Ti is a returning ski for this year featuring the same awesome front side performance. This thing has so much going for it, and it makes such clean and smooth and round turns, that it’s almost hard to believe. Furthermore, it’s amazing that this ski isn’t even in the top end of Rossignol’s front side category. That said, the blend of high-end construction, carving shape, and race-like profile make this ski an absolute pleasure to ski. On the flip side, it’s not for everyone—there should be a minimum set of skills and comfort on a ski like this, especially to get it to perform at its intended and highest level. For advanced, expert, and race-oriented skiers looking for a wider-bodied ski for carving and all-mountain ripping, this is about as slick as it gets. The mid-range radius is perfect for those spending most of their time on groomers and in a carved turn, while the upper-end build provides power and energy with each turn. With great energy, tons of pop, and a solid platform, these skis are top-shelf all the way. It’s a high-end product that delivers predictable performance and boosts confidence from top to bottom.

Rossignol doesn’t seem to want to mess with the build here since the construction of this ski still remains the same. Built with a poplar wood core, a titanal beam underfoot, Carbon Alloy Matrix, and Line Control Technology, these skis have an amazing blend of quickness, power, and smoothness. There’s minimal chatter and vibrations due to the metal, and the edge grip is simply off the charts. The V-shaped matrix provides further stiffness without adding much weight, keeping this ski on the lighter side for the power at 1700 grams in the 175 cm length. While this is still a step below the Master or the Athlete version of the ski due to the lighter poplar wood core, it makes more sense in this version, opening the performance to a wider audience, so you can still be a mere mortal skier and still enjoy all the trappings of the Hero Elite MT Ti. Tester Jeff Carpenter calls it an “Effortless carver-would be great for ex-racers or anyone looking for a versatile, solid and affordable race-type ski.”

The footprint of this ski is considerably more influenced from the race room. The Mult-Turn radius makes a lot of sense for most skiers, as it hits the middle zone of turn shape and style. By reaching a 15-meter turn radius in the 175 cm length, this ski can do a mix of shorter and longer turns without many complaints. The 74 mm waist is right in that sweet spot of being wide enough to offer a decent platform to stand on while keeping the torsional stiffness and agility at an absolute maximum. This width is great because it’s not that twitchy or catch and delivers a similar amount of power and grip. While Rossignol calls it a Piste Rocker profile, it certainly falls more on the cambered side of the spectrum, building energy and pop into the turn thanks to the footprint of the ski. Billy Annacone calls it “Turny and has great hold on ice. Best for groomers since the hold is so good.”

Rossignol rolls back the clock once again on the Hero Elite MT Ti. While the performance level of the ski can be off-the-charts high, it’s still accessible and very smooth. There’s tons of edge contact here, making it an excellent choice for ski professionals, instructors, and recreational racers who are looking for silence, precision, and power in their front side ski. While it’s mainly reserved for that upper end skier, the waist width does make it easy to turn, so even progressing skiers looking for the ultimate smoothness will find some success here. Adding the SPX 12 Konnect binding system to the mix doesn’t hurt either, as there’s a good stand height for maximizing leverage. We’re stoked that this ski is returning for another year of on-piste fun and excitement. The front side is a great place to be for a huge number of skiers, and that’s shown in Rossignol’s commitment to strong and smooth skis in this width range.
