2027 Atomic Bent 100

We get a fresh new graphic for the 2027 Atomic Bent 100, but otherwise the ski returns unchanged. This ski continues to be a stalwart in this category, providing fun and practical performance for a wide variety of skiers. They are able to incorporate sleek and innovative graphics into the mix as well, which has always been a bright spot for image-conscious skiers and ski buyers. With an even and energetic flex to go along with a directional feel, these all-mountain twins cross a lot of borders and boundaries when it comes to playful and creative skiing in any type of conditions or terrain. While there are certainly better carvers out there in the 100 mm world, these skis continue to set a high bar for versatility and soft snow playfulness.

There’s nothing earth-shattering about the construction here—we get a poplar wood core and that’s about it. The light wood adds pop and energy while keeping the ski light and mobile. Atomic states a weight of 1700 g/ski in the 179 cm length, so there’s plenty of wiggle factor here as the skis are super easy to maneuver. While they’re not particularly stiff, they do have nice rebound, giving them an upper-level feel. Tester Grant Wieler states that “The ski is certainly oriented to all mountain/off peace and softer conditions. On some of the hard pack it felt a little bit… The word that comes to mind is brittle of course this comes at its weight - adding material to increase dampness which certainly sacrifice some of the maneuverability and responsiveness of the ski. This is a big stiff ski that I immediately softened into. It was happy, making a variety of turns and patterns and plays in some bumps and groomers. I found it comfortable and fun, but not necessarily as responsive as a few other skis in the class. It struck me as a ski that would certainly excel in bumpier, softer snow.” It’s easy to focus on some good keywords here, like “play” and “variety” as those are great descriptors to use when discussing and evaluating Bent 100.

In addition to the construction returning, we get the same shape as well. This has been one of the best parts of the Bent 100 over the years and we’re stoked it continues into 2027. At 100 mm underfoot, there’s a nice blend of soft snow flotation to go along with easy mobility. We also get their HRZN Tech in the tips and tails to make the ski feel floatier and easier to maneuver. Versatility is the key here, as the ski has a true on/off trail character as noted by tester Ashely Maxfield: “I absolutely loved this ski. I could take it on the frozen snowpack and still have fun. It feels ready to tackle the mountain while having fun doing it. This ski is the king (or Queen) of the mountain. Will take you everywhere ready to have fun. It has the whole package of playfulness, forgiveness, and quickness that allows you to do it all.” These keywords keep popping up, and it makes us thankful that an all-mountain directional twin tip like the Bent 100 exists in our ski world.

The wide span of skier types is another feather in the Bent 100’s cap. Not only are they approachable and fun, but they also come in a big size range, starting at 158 and running through 186. Whether you’re a progressing skier, a younger and still growing skier, or an accomplished all-mountain expert, there’s likely a use for a Bent 100 in your ski quiver.
