2027 Atomic Maverick 115 CTI

With a fresh new color for 2027, the Atomic Maverick 115 CTi returns for another year of big mountain pow slaying. Since the ski returns structurally unchanged, it’s fair and safe to say that skiers who liked it last year will continue to do so, and those who haven’t yet skied it will get another crack at the floaty, fun, and surprisingly powerful 115 CTi. Developed in conjunction with Atomic athletes, this is certainly more of a specific ski to aggressive skiing and bigger mountains. We’ve found, however, that even at smaller mountains like here at Stowe, there’s a lot to like about the mobility of this sublime floater.

Built with a blend of poplar and ash in the wood core, the ski also uses a mixture of carbon stringers and a partial metal laminate to give it power and smoothness. Atomic states a weight of 2150 g/ski in the 193 cm length, and that’s a bit on the light side given the width and length. It leads to a highly mobile and agile feel in the ski but you still get plenty of sturdiness to stand on when the going gets weird. Tester and Maverick 115 CTi aficionado Matt Stromecki notes that “They aren't overly stiff so you can manipulate them and have some forgiveness, but they are also not soft so you can trust them. Very well-rounded powder ski!”

It’s a nice mix of stronger and sturdier feel to go along with a progressive and drifty shape. We get a bunch of rocker in both tips and tails to go along with a lower camber profile underfoot. The taper shape certainly lends to soft snow flotation as the ski drifts and smears easily through powder and can be thrown sideways with ease. Matt continues to note: “Love this ski! So surfy and playful yet still solid enough to want to push. The taper shape and rocker profile are the definition of directional freeride big mountain, and it feels like it on snow as well. The maneuverability is insane, such a good tree ski but also feels at home when opening it up and letting them run.”

While the ski is wide and born from the minds of competitive freeride and big mountain skiers, the Maverick 115 CTi is still on the more approachable side of the spectrum. It is easy to get sideways and smear around while keeping a high-performance end when you need to let it run and get a bit more aggressive. This ski is a freeride weapon for sure and does not back down from a whole lot. While it’s a bit much for intermediates, it’ll fit right in with an advanced and expert realm.
