2027 Liberty Radian 92

The Liberty Radian 92 is a fun carver with all-mountain capabilities. It provides security, fun, and entertainment while keeping things light and generally easy to use. We don't' think these will blow the doors off of a high-test ski in the mid-90's but for what it sets out to do, it is more than capable. With a progressive rocker profile for an all-mountain ski and a well-rounded construction, these skis can handle a wide variety of conditions and terrain, especially when on the feet of an advanced or expert skier, although we'd certainly say that these are accessible for progressing intermediates, too.

The Radian 92 gets Liberty's Precision Core which consists of a blend of bamboo, poplar, and ash. They then add their Variable Metal Technology to the mix which adds damping and power to the edges. This metal laminate is a partial layer, extending just forward and aft of the binding zone and tapering to a point. To bring energy and electricity to the mix, Liberty uses carbon stringers above the core. This gives the ski a stiffer and livelier feel to promote profound rebound. It's not too stiff nor too heavy, rather it relies on more of an average feel and flex to satisfy the masses. Tester Nik Coffrin calls it a "Fun ski! Handled chop well and went on edge easily. They have performed well in variables hard pack, carves well and handles changing terrain. Good all-mountain."

In terms of shape and footprint, the Radian 92 is a fun carver with a wider bodied shape. They work just fine in variable conditions and terrain and can hold up in bumps and trees because they are relatively quick. The skis use measurements of 130/92/116 to create an 18-meter turn radius. This is on the longer side for skis of this shape, and it helps the skier to feel more in control of the ski in softer and deeper snow with more of a smeary and drifty character. There's some taper and rocker here, but pretty standard for a playful all-mountain ski. Tester Martin Herold states that it's a "Nice ski from an independent manufacturer. Would benefit from testing on a day with more powder but on today's hard-packed/granular surface it did not feel as stable as some others. Beautiful ski with great story not coming from the main brands. The ski performed well but felt less clear on a day with hard/granular surface and some ice off the Fourrunner."

This ski has a strong build and a versatile shape that should appeal to a wide variety of skiers. Liberty has undergone some changes recently, and that lack of consistency does seem to keep some people away, but we've found that the silent attitude combined with the well-rounded shape make this ski feel like an upscale model. The bamboo and ABS sidewalls act as vibration insulators, giving the Radian 92 an uncommonly quiet sound.
