2027 Stockli Laser MX

The 2027 Stockli Laser MX is an awesome choice for skiers who are looking for quickness, ease of use, and a smooth ride. These skis make a lot of sense for lighter or progressing skiers who want high performance but without the demand. Stockli does a fantastic job of providing slower or more moderate speed performance for skiers who aren't terribly aggressive or looking for a fight. These skis work great in an on-piste capacity, making quick work of groomers and allowing for agile and mobile turns that can easily vary in length and style.

The Laser MX is built with a blend of poplar and beech in the wood core. The lighter poplar takes up most of the bandwidth while the beech stringers keep the ski steady and composed at speed. Stockli uses two sheets of metal in this ski to go along with their Turtle Shell 2.0 technology to keep the ski flexible at lower speeds. We get a bit of a softer flex in these skis to make that accessibility a highlight. Tester Leslie Gauff calls it a "Quick easy turning ski but can still do more of a GS Turn on them when desired. Very stable, excellent on the firm conditions tested on. Very nice carving ski. Fabulous high-performance ski overall! I always wanted to try a Stockli ski after hearing from people who love them. I get it. 😉"

Looking at the shape and profile, these skis are unmistakable front side performers. With measurements of 119/71/101, the skis create a 13.2-meter turn radius in the 158 cm length. We only get a longer 164 in this model, so there's a shorter ski emphasis going on here as well. That shorter arc does wonders when it comes to speed control and using the fall line. These are not direct in nature, even though our testers found that the construction allowed them to be confident at higher speeds. Stockli claims that there's some tail rocker in this ski, but for the most part, this is fully cambered with zero taper. That makes it ideally suited for on-piste carving performance as there's a longer effective edge for increased smoothness and control.

If you're looking for a blend of minimal effort to go along with high performance, the Stockli Laser MX is a fantastic choice. With shorter lengths, a softer flex, and a lighter weight, these skis work great for smaller and less aggressive skiers who are looking for confidence and fun in a carved turn. The narrower waist width increases torsional stiffness and agility for those that like the ski to be mobile and simple. As always, with Stockli quality comes smoothness and silence—the MX has those aspects to go along with an energetic and peppy ride.
