As the widest and surfiest Bent in the series, it comes as no surprise that the Atomic Bent Chetler 120 Ski with Bindings is back for another season of excellent powder performance. At 120mm underfoot, there is no denying that the Bent Chetler 120 is more of a deep snow demolisher than a daily-driver. That’s not to say that it can’t perform beyond the powder—in fact, it’s quite the opposite—but its true intentions emerge as a result of softer snow. It’s surfy, playful, powerful, and easy to maneuver with a generous rocker profile in both the tip and tail. Atomic’s HRZN Tech 3D shape works in tandem with this profile to give the Bent Chetler 120 a lighter, more forgiving feel in deep snow and hardpack. A light wood core keeps the construction surprisingly simple, but the same cannot be said about the Bent Chetler 120’s look. It’s about as colorful as it gets with a flashy and abstract graphic that pays tribute to the Bent series’ artistic heritage. It’s about as playful as they come, too, and it puts very few limitations on what it and its pilot can achieve. It’s a bit wide for freestyle, but this wouldn’t be the first time we caught a Bent Chetler cruising through the park. That’s the beauty of Atomic’s Bent series: ingenuity is left to the skier.
