The 2026 Blizzard Firebird WRC is one of the most powerful and precise recreational skis in the world today. It is essentially a real-deal race ski with just a smidge taken off the top, but don’t be mistaken – it’s probably still overkill for your beer-league race program. The Firebird WRC returns unchanged for 2026, and it is still a narrow waisted rugged ski build for the utmost power and speed.

Why we like it:

This ski is one of the closest things to getting on an actual FIS certified race ski and that is reflected in its performance. From stability at high speeds, torsional stiffness and edge grip on firm snow, to energy release at the end of a turn, it’ all there.

Who it's for:

The Firebird WRC is best suited for expert skiers and former racers who know what they’re looking for in a ski.

Highlights:

Blizzard’s Trueblend Race Wood Core consisting of poplar and ash stringers, with the majority being ash, gives this ski an incredibly solid platform. Reinforcing the Trueblend Race wood core are three full sheets of titanal which boosts the heftiness of this ski to the moon.

Things to consider:

This is a serious ski and if you are someone who isn’t going to be pushing the envelope, then there are far better options. Due to its three layers of titanal, it takes a lot of technique and force to manipulate them so if you aren’t prepared for that, you will likely get rag dolled.
