DESCRIPTION

The 2027 Black Crows Camox Birdie is a versatile all-mountain ski designed for women seeking a balance between playfulness and stability. With a versatile shape and dependable build, it offers maneuverability in varied terrain while maintaining edge hold on groomed runs.

Why we like it:

The Camox Birdie stands out for its adaptability, offering a smooth ride in powder while maintaining control on groomed trails. Its double rocker profile enhances maneuverability, making it a reliable choice for varied terrain.

Who it's for:

Ideal for intermediate to expert female skiers who desire a one-ski quiver capable of handling everything from soft snow days to mixed snow conditions. Its design caters to those who appreciate a ski that responds well to both aggressive and relaxed skiing styles.

Highlights:

The ski's semi-cap construction with ABS sidewalls ensures durability and edge grip. Made up of a poplar wood core with fiberglass laminate, this ski has a predicatable and intuitive flex for wherever on the mountain you may find yourself. The classic medium camber underfoot provides stability, while the double rocker enhances pivot and control. A modern shape and profile brings to the table a much more pronounced turn initiation phase and tails that are easier to release in more technical terrain.

Things to consider:

While the Camox Birdie excels in versatility, skiers who prefer a stiffer ski for aggressive charging might find it less suitable. If you have a preference to pure on trail carving performance, there are better, more specialized options out there. But if you want a one-ski-quiver that you can take anywhere, the Camox Birdie ticks the boxes.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Skis true to size. Skiers seeking agility may opt for shorter lengths, while those desiring increased stability at speed can choose longer sizes.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
Heavier than I would have liked but stable and relaxed.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
All mountain for sure. Nice for cruising some slow turns if you want and can keep it together through the chunder.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
Intermediate or advanced. Easy to maneuver and forgiving if you need to bail on a turn.
If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?
I'd like them to have a bit more pop.
