2027 Fischer Nightstick Junior Skiswith Comp J Boots and Poles

If your kid is logging more laps in the park than on the groomers, the Fischer Nightstick Jr is the right tool. This junior freestyle ski uses a twin tip so landing and skiing away backward feels as normal as forward, and the deliberately tough build survives the rails and boxes that eat softer skis. It stays light enough to spin easily, which suits smaller kids who have started seeking out jumps rather than avoiding them. We selected to pair the Nightstick with the Rossignol Comp J Boy’s ski boots because of its comfort and reliable support that it provides for early skiing experiences. Its soft flex, easy-to-use buckle system, and cozy liner, make these boots the perfect match for these skis and beginner skiers who need a reliable and user-friend boot.

Who it's for:

Smaller children who have started seeking out jumps rather than avoiding them. The short lengths and low weight suit light skiers working on their first park laps and switch turns.

Things to consider:

Everything about this ski aims at the park, so a child who mostly skis groomers with the family will get less from it than from an all-mountain junior model. Its narrow, flat-tuned shape also offers little in soft snow.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Going short is the right instinct here, because a park ski a child can pivot underfoot lets them learn switch and spins far faster than a longer ski that tracks straight, and at these sizes the length lost costs almost nothing in stability.
