If Nothing is what you want, then Nothing is what you'll get. Seriously...we've got nothing, thanks to Fischer's unique "Less is More" approach to marketing this ski. What we can piece together: it's a wide-bodied freeride ski, with heavy tip and tail rocker, a twin shape, and a titanal-reinforced wood core. This adds up to a playful, surfy ride that still has enough backbone to hold a line when you open it up.

Why we like it:

The Nothing asks you to judge it by feel instead of a spec sheet, and if you can get past the novelty of that approach, it's kind of refreshing to remove that bias.

Who it's for:

This is a ski for advanced to expert skiers who treat the whole mountain as a playground and want a big, forgiving platform underfoot when the snow gets deep or chopped up. It rewards a loose, creative style; skiers who like to mix a little freestyle flavor into their big-mountain days will feel right at home.

Highlights:

Normally this is where we would rattle off all the fun technical details, but Fischer has kept mum on that front, so we did our best with what little we could find. On our 196 cm pair, we measured and came up with roughly 145 mm at the tip, 112 mm underfoot, and 135 mm at the tail, working out to about a 23 meter turn radius, though we'll be the first to admit that an intentionally scribbled-out graphic doesn't exactly inspire spec-sheet confidence. The Nothing comes in three lengths, 176, 186, and 196 cm, all of them on the longer side. Beneath the mystery topsheet is a wood core with titanal running through the midbody, in the fork-shaped layout borrowed from Fischer's freeride chassis. The shape leans hard into freeride fun, with a generously rockered shovel and tail, and camber underfoot to keep some snap and edge hold in the mix.

Things to consider:

The obvious caveat is that you're buying a wide-bodied big-mountain ski largely on faith, so anyone who likes to study the numbers before committing will have to make peace with a little uncertainty. The lengths start at 176 cm and run long, so smaller or lighter skiers may find even the shortest option to be a lot of ski. And with a measured radius in the low 20s and a heavily rockered, freeride-oriented shape, this is a surfy floater, not a precise groomer weapon.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Nothing skis a touch shorter than the number on the topsheet, or rather, the number that would be on the topsheet if Fischer had bothered to print one. If you're caught between sizes, dropping down a length keeps things manageable without sacrificing much float.
