2027 Fischer Ranger Jr Skis Junior Skiswith Comp J Boots and Poles

Pointing the ski where you want it to go is most of what early skiing is about, and the Fischer Ranger Jr in its shorter lengths is built around that. It's narrow underfoot and very light, with a flex Fischer tuned to how little a child actually weighs, and a slight tip lift keeps it from catching as a new skier slides into a turn. FS CA JRS bindings are included and are adjustable for growing feet. The short shape brings turns around quickly, which suits younger children still in their first seasons. We selected to pair the Ranger Jr Skis with the Rossignol Comp J Girl’s ski boots because of its comfort and reliable performance that it provides for beginner to lower intermediate skiers. Its soft flex, easy-to-use buckle system, and cozy liner, make these boots the ultimate match for these skis and skiers who need a reliable and user-friend boot that will help to improve their skill anywhere on the mountain.

Who it's for:

Younger children in their first seasons, working on making a turn happen reliably. The short lengths and narrow waist suit small, light skiers on groomed beginner and intermediate terrain.

Things to consider:

The narrow on-piste shape has no float, so soft snow days will be a slog. The ski is tuned for learning rather than for speed, and a child who starts skiing fast will overrun it.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Keeping the ski short is the point at this stage, since a short ski comes around quickly and lets a young skier finish a turn before losing their balance. Check the binding's adjustment against the boot each season, because feet usually grow faster than the skier outgrows the length.
