The 2023 Liberty Genesis 90 is an amazing choice for ladies who like to use the whole mountain as their playground. The ski gets a graphics refresh for this year but remains the same build and shape. We’ve seen a lot of success and fun in the world because of these skis, and everyone that gets on them just really seems to enjoy the fun factor. Built with Liberty’s VMT 1.0 core, the skis get the added boost of a vertical metal strut that runs the length of the ski. They also use three different woods in the core of the Genesis 90, with bamboo and paulownia occupying the most space, while poplar stringer boost performance and sandwich around that metal strut for even more dampness and power. This combination makes for a smooth, stable, and quiet ride that skiers from a wide range of abilities and backgrounds can really enjoy. With a rounded shape and fairly dramatic rocker profiles, these skis have a big freeride flair, even if the shape is more all-mountain. Call it what you want, the Liberty Genesis 90 is ready for anything, from groomed trails to fresh powder and everything in between. While not a twin tip in the freestyle sense of the word per se, it’s certainly got the fun-loving aspect to it down pat.

Lexi Hildreth is a fantastic person to be testing the Genesis 90. She’s got the skills and style to match up really well with the Genesis, and the flex and profile go well with how she cruises the mountain. On the 165, Lexi notes that the ski is true to size and is a great length for her. Stability and versatility earned top marks of 5 out of 5 for Lexi, with the rest of her scores garnering 4’s. It’s always impressive to see a ski get all 4’s and 5’s, and the Genesis 90 is one of the skis that I’d guess would be able to pull off that feat. Lexi states that she “Loved this ski. It felt really stable and I felt very in control. Handled the slush very well but would also handle other terrain appropriately. Definitely would choose to ski this ski again, and have to give it props on the top sheet as well. Loved the design!” For a 90 mm underfoot ski, I’d wish and hope that it’s able to handle a variety of conditions and terrain, and it sounds like Lexi had that going on for sure.
Also on the 165, Alli Ruschp notes that it skis true to size and is the length she’d get for herself. For Alli, the skis got 5’s out of 5 for quickness, maneuverability, forgiveness, and playfulness. Torsional stiffness, edge hold, stability, flotation, and overall impression all got 4’s so we’re again seeing these consistently high scores lining up with what a well-rounded ski should feel and behave like. Alli calls the Genesis 90 “Approachable for intermediate skiers to advanced, smooth stable ride on moderate conditions. Gets a little chattery in ice but great for groomers. Not heavy under foot and very maneuverable in trees and bumps, with a snappy peppy feel.” I like the use of the term “pep” in a ski, and I’m stoked to hear it in the Genesis 90, as the Liberty skis definitely have a lot of that going on for them, and that’s a good thing.
For ladies who are looking for a smooth and stable ride, the 2023 Liberty Genesis 90 is a fantastic choice. There’s a big range of skier here, as the intermediate will like the light weight and the maneuverability, while the more advanced and expert skiers will gravitate to the quickness and playfulness of the ski, and with VMT 1.0, there’s an awesome level of performance and power that emerges with every turn of this ski.
