With a little face lift for 2023, the Line Pandora 84 remains the same fun-loving all-mountain ski that we’ve loved for a few years now. At 84 mm underfoot, it’s the narrowest of the Pandoras, and that makes it a bit more comfortable on the firmer snow and hardpack than some of the wider skis in Line’s collection. That said, it’s still pretty light and playful. Built with an Aspenlight wood core, the Pandora 84 tips the scales at 1339 grams per ski in the 158 and produces a turn radius of 13-meters. This makes the ski pretty darn adept at turning, and if you’re the type of skier who wants something quick, agile, fun, and energetic, then the Pandora 84 should be on the list for sure.

Alli Ruschp skied the 165 and noted that it is true to size. She calls it “Forgiving and light front side resort ski, even maybe the park lady. Great for lightweight skiers or even a teenager that likes to stick to the resort, woods and bumps. Easy to maneuver in tight spots, and has energy that keeps it fun in the bumps. Strong skiers will most likely overpower the ski, and not get the performance they need.” Accordingly, Alli gave the skis top marks of 5 out of 5 for quickness, maneuverability, playfulness, and forgiveness. Lower scores of 3 went for overall impression, torsional stiffness, edge hold, stability, and flotation. Jana Ross also skied the 165 and noted that “it felt too long for me and I felt that it skied even longer. I think this ski was too long and too light for me to have fun on. But the graphics are pretty spectacular.” She gave top marks of 4 out of 5 for stability, torsional stiffness, and edge hold, and this lines up pretty well with her opinions about the sizing.

Laura McLaughlin skied the 165 and found that the "length felt manageable. Recommending it for someone else, I would ask how they prefer the ski to ride. I wasn't expecting it to ski longer than the length, but it wanted to complete the turn every time. If someone is looking to go in the woods / bumps, I'd say size down. Front side stick to the length you know you like and expect it to hold the turn. Pandora 84 in a 165 skied longer than I thought it would. Every turn wanted to be completed, however, she would release quicker if you were more centered. Test day was a firm snow day, so the 84 was a great width to test. In the icier spots this ski held right to the terrain, I felt secure in every turn. I would recommend this ski for a front side skier. If they are an intermediate skier to size down and if they are advanced to keep to their normal preferred length. I did receive a few positive graphic comments from other ladies as I skied away from the test area!”

Some differing opinions are known to pop up with lighter skis, and the Pandora 84 is no different. If you’re looking for something light and fun to ski on, that will not be punishing in the least, these skis make a great option. If you’re on the more aggressive side of the spectrum, you may find a little lack of performance, especially on the top end, with these 84’s.
