The 2026 Atomic Cloud C9 is a carryover model, bringing with it the same shape, construction, and profile as last year. By mixing race-inspired technology with a high-performance build, the Cloud C9 is the perfect on-piste tool for skiers who want to make clean, round turns with precision and power. At 72 mm underfoot, this sharp carving ski checks all the boxes for strong frontside skiers who value stability, strong edge grip, and lightweight agility. Built for smooth, predictable performance, Atomic utilizes its race heritage to deliver a powerful option in an accessible package. This ski works great for intermediate and advanced skiers who are looking to improve and progress their front side performance.

This ski uses the big-time benefits of an active and successful race department. Atomic lays the foundation with a lightweight wood core, which provides excellent agility and stability. In addition, we also get a densolite foam core that enhances sturdiness and durability, as well as consistency. Stepping up the flex pattern and overall strength, Revoshock Light technology is incorporated, adding dampness for an ultra-smooth ride. Seen across the Cloud series, this innovative approach to the build significantly reduces chatter and absorbs unwanted vibrations, providing the level of performance that puts this ski in the top tier of its category. Rounding out the construction with Dura Cap Sidewall, we get excellent power transmission for confident carving and rebound. As a result of this construction, tester Mar Kuhnel scored the ski 9’s out of 10 for stability, quickness, maneuverability, and overall impression.

The footprint of the ski is decidedly race-based and on-piste. The 100% cambered profile puts this ski squarely into the frontside category. Bookended with a 116.5 mm tip and 101.5 mm tail in the 157 cm length, the long effective edge is paired with a rounded shovel and flat tail. What’s nice about this shape is that the fore and aft of the ski is slightly lighter and softer than the midsection, providing power underfoot and effortless maneuverability in the extremities. With a 13.1-meter turn radius, the Cloud C9 prefers to make short, quick turns, with impressive energy from edge to edge. Confident, predictable performance is what this ski delivers, and this is all thanks to the mindful approach to both the build and shape. Mar continues to state that “These were super fun! Very stable and smooth but with a good energetic punch out of the turn. Plenty of grip and they tracked nicely through some variable snow, though there was a bit of feedback through chunky ice cookies.”

These skis are ideally suited for intermediate and advanced skiers who are looking to improve their carving game. The Atomic Cloud C9 fits the needs of a variety of on-piste skiers who like to carve with precision and control. While it’s not the most aggressive frontside ski out there, it strikes a nice balance between agility and power, making it more accessible to a wider audience of skiers. Seeing as we spend most of our time on groomers, this ski makes a whole lot of sense and will build confidence and technique while providing a smooth, steady ride. With more of a value-oriented build, these skis will also appeal to the more budget-conscious portion of the population.

I can’t decide if I like the boring black or if I like it, either way it’s a fun ski!
