The K2 Blur 79 is a fun-loving all-mountain cruiser for intermediates and advanced skiers who are looking to improve and have a solid and energetic ski under their feet. The Blur series is aptly named as it attempts to blur the lines between front side and all-mountain. As such, versatility matters here, allowing this 79 to punch above its level when it comes to carving groomers, hitting bumps, exploring woods, and busting through choppy end of day snow. Built and shaped with improvement and progression in mind, the Blur 79 is a fun-loving and peppy ski that is easy and fun to use.

There’s not a whole lot of technology or apparent sophistication with the construction of the Blur 79, but that’s not a bad thing. Built with an aspen wood core, the skis also use bio resin and re-purposed base material in order to decrease their environmental impact. In addition, Blur 79 uses a flax laminate to deliver more energy and durability. We also get a system binding for simplicity and leverage. The core thickness does create a relatively stiff and energetic flex, although the skis do not feel overpowering or demanding. Tester Greg Morrill noted as such, stating it’s a “stiff ski. Didn’t want to turn as much in the softer snow. Where the surface was smoother, skidded turns worked well.”

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2026 K2 Blur 79

As stated, Blur 79 uses a 79 mm waist, 120 mm tips, and 108 mm tails to generate a 16.3-meter turn radius in the 177 cm length. This is on the longer side for a ski like this, allowing skiers to mix up turn shape and style without getting locked into a particular carve. While there’s some rocker here, it’s mainly focused on utilizing camber for energy and pop. The little rocker and taper that we do have is generally used for cut up snow at the end of the day rather than any real powder or deep snow. Tester Megan Papineau had some interesting thoughts, stating that she “immediately thought it’s the ski for me when I’m old! In a good way. It’s great for all-terrain, maybe just not powder.”

Great for bumps, packed out trees, and groomers, the Blur 79 is a fun and energetic ski that will work well for progressing intermediates and advanced skiers. While there are skis in this realm that function at higher levels, this Blur 79 is very peppy and simple and easy to use. There aren’t many skis here that are as stiff as this one, resulting in an interesting and exciting performance level.
