2027 Atomic Bent 110

If you’re in the mood for some really fun soft snow skiing, look no further than the 2027 Atomic Bent 110. With a flexible nature and an easy turning mentality, the Bent 110 is a great option for those either looking for their first wider ski or accomplished skiers who know what they want when it comes to freeride and freestyle shenanigans. There’s nothing terribly serious about this ski, it’s all about good vibes and happy times on the hill and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

There are no construction differences with this ski for 2027, but we do get a fresh new graphic that we feel is one of the best ones ever. There’s not a whole lot going on here, either, as the ski is made from a light poplar wood core and that’s about it. We can split the HRZN Tech conversation equally between shape and construction as it falls on both sides of the aisle. These skis are pretty light and meant for mobility, hence their 1750 g/ski weight. They have a softer flex and when combined with the weight it makes for an extremely agile ski. It’s best for soft snow as a result, and tester Steph Lawee notes as such: “This ski would be appropriate as a first powder ski for an intermediate/advanced skier. You will float and have fun with fresh snow! This ski would have felt great on a powdery day! It is light, playful, and fairly forgiving. It is a little wide for groomers and can feel shaky at higher speeds.” If you can look ahead and make yourself feel balanced and proper, you can certainly carve a clean turn, but make no mistake, this is not an overly powerful or demanding ski.

The shape is quite friendly, too, and we’ve found that the more forward mount point is fun and functional for creative skiing. At 110 mm underfoot, it’s wide and prefers softer snow, but it can handle softer groomers with relative ease. The 180 cm length produces an 18-meter turn radius, and it can find every centimeter of that arc due to the shape. HRZN Tech helps here with flotation and smoothness in the transitions, and a rounder taper shape accentuates that boat-like mentality. As a result, tester Jeff Neagle notes that “It's definitely best in soft snow and even better when the terrain is rolling or bouncy with lots of natural hits and features. If you're just ripping steep laps down the fall line, there are better skis, but if you want to bring creativity and a freestyle flair into the backcountry and any other soft snow situation, you'll love it.”

This is a good entry level fat ski, but it is still a fat ski. If you’re a progressing skier and this is considerably wider than anything you’ve ever had, it’ll feel fat. If you’ve dabbled in the 100’s or so and are looking to step up the powder game without being overwhelmed, this is a great place to be.
