2027 Blizzard Sheeva 10

The 2027 Blizzard Sheeva 10 returns structurally unchanged, but we do get a graphics refresh. There’s a reason the Sheeva has become one of the top choices for professional athletes and high-end skiers, as it holds up to the demands of aggressive skiing while maintaining a super playful, agile feel. The Sheeva 10 in particular boasts a wider waist width and deeper rocker lines than the 9, appealing to soft snow performance without sacrificing phenomenal edge grip and power. It’s a smooth and fun ski that can charge when asked but is also quick, smeary, and surfy in deeper snow.

There’s a whole lot of thought and sophistication going on in these Sheeva skis. The construction approach focuses on balancing agility and power to deliver a high-performance ceiling and a playful freeride personality. Through the use of metal in a frame-like format, the extremities of the ski remain unencumbered while the edges receive wider metal and taper towards the tip and tail. Underfoot, a fiberglass laminate boosts energy and keeps the weight down. To work with this technology, Blizzard uses their TrueBlend Freeride Wood Core, which consists of beech, poplar, and paulownia positioned strategically throughout the length of the ski. Further adding to the flex pattern, the multi-string lay-up of wood of different densities provides both longitudinal and torsional flex. The result is an impressively strong carving ski, especially for this width, that still boosts a lot of energy and pop. Tester Lauren Morton notes that "This is a sweet ski but might be better suited on the west coast. It’s lacking some maneuverability and playfulness even though I know it would plow though chop and crud. It held an edge and made some nice big turns."

There’s a whole lot of usefulness and playfulness going on with the footprint of this Sheeva 10. The shape is where we see the freeride inspiration, with soft-snow preferences but plenty of versatility for on-piste performance. With a 102 mm waist width, this is a great size for a dedicated powder ski or a daily driver for those who prefer a slightly wider platform. With moderate tip and tail rocker, with more in the tip, and a progressive sidecut, the Sheeva 10 floats effortlessly while carving like a true all-mountain ski. The sidecut consists of a 133.5 mm tip and 122.5 mm tail and generates a turning radius of 16.5 meters. This is a particularly versatile turn radius for a ski this wide, capable of making a variety of turn shapes, including quick, snappy turns for tighter terrain. With impeccably smooth turn initiation and energy in and out of turns, it's amazing how well it transitions between on-piste and off-piste terrain. Tester Fiona Reed states that " This skis like a stiffer and less versatile Mantra M7 to me. Has basically one turn shape that it likes to do — and can totally rail it — but was a little hard to turn in moguls on Liftline (though they were admittedly in bad shape today), make quick turns on the edge of the trail, not a super poppy ski, not a lot of energy return. What it was was incredibly damp and stable, great edge grip on ice for how wide it was and could really fly if you opened up the throttle."

We're stoked to see this ski roll around again, as the prospect of replacing a ski like this has to be daunting at best. With uncommon smoothness and power for this shape and style, the Sheeva 10 works wonders both on and off-trail.
