Dynastar has successfully blurred the line between all-mountain and frontside performance with the 2023 E-Pro 85 W. Boasting a directional profile, with substantial, gradual rocker in the tips combined with early taper, you truly get the best of both worlds as far as effortless float upon softer conditions and stable edge grip underfoot. Agile and highly maneuverable, the E-pro 85 lands in the sweet spot for waist width, making them approachable and versatile. Built with a poplar/PU wood core blend, you achieve the light weight properties of wood added to fiberglass reinforcement, giving you the perfect balance of elasticity, resistance and weight. Geared towards intermediate to advanced female skiers who want quick edge to edge abilities but also the ability to go off-piste when conditions call for it.

Abby Maurice had the chance to ski a 163 and really liked the length for herself. An impressive scoresheet, the E-Pro 85 W received 4’s out of 5 in every category, including the overall impression. Consistency is key, especially for a ski that is considered “all-mountain”, clearly capable of succeeding in various conditions and use. Abby commented “4s all around! This ski is timeless and elegant. Designed for a traditional frontside, all-mountain skier looking to gradually improve their technique and comfortability on snow. It effortlessly follows your movements while challenging your abilities. The light weight constructions allow for quick maneuverability and flexes nicely driving into and pulling out of turns. I wouldn't take in extreme conditions- great resort ski!” It’s awesome to hear such high regards for this ski, putting it high up on our list for all-mountain, frontside skis for intermediate to advanced female rippers!
Also on the 163, Alli Ruschp loved the quickness and agility, noting that the length was good for her, but she’d like to try the size up as well. Alli gave it 5’s out of 5 for quickness, maneuverability, playfulness, forgiveness, and overall impression. Versatility, torsional stiffness, and edge grip all got 4’s while stability and flotation got 3’s. “This ski is incredibly fun to turn, and would make a great choice for ladies who love to stick to groomers but also want to branch out. I feel like I made some of the best swooshing turns of the day on these skis, and I didn’t feel like they were difficult on the legs at all. If you’re looking to spend more time on the hill making pretty turns, the E-Pro 85 is a great ski. Pretty good in the bumps and trees, if you’re looking for off-piste activities.”
It’s great to get the updates to this ski for 2023, and a lot of lady skiers should definitely check this thing out. Thanks to the shape, profile, and construction, the E-Pro 85 falls more in line with the upper-end skis in Dynastar’s lineup, allowing the intermediate and advanced skier the opportunity to step it up and progress with confidence and control.
