There’s a lot to look forward to with Dynastar for the 2025 season, starting with the refinements made to the M-Pro series. Steadily gaining popularity over the past few years, the M-Pro line became known for its all-mountain, freeride capabilities in a traditional, directional body. Delivering equal parts power and precision with forgiveness and float, the approach here focused on strong skier input, with a straighter cut and sturdy build. This allows the skier to dictate the level of performance and magnitude of the turn shapes and styles. With a high-performance ceiling, this ski is definitely geared towards advanced level skiers as it requires some power and technique to access the sweet spot, especially in the tail. Given that, Dynastar decided to make these skis a bit more approachable while still maintaining the power and directional format in order to reach a wider audience. With the E-Pro series from last year switching to the M-Pro series, we’re seeing a direct correlation to the men’s version but with different graphics. The M-Pro W 98 now replaces the E-Pro 99, with a slightly altered shape and updated construction.

Featuring the same construction as its unisex counterpart, the new M-Pro W 98 receives an upgrade to the overall build. Following in the footsteps of the E-Cross series, the Hybrid 2.0 core technology is incorporated here, using three different wood layers that work together in a multi-dimensional format. By milling one part of the wood core and joining it with another, Dynastar is able to fuse two different parts together without using adhesive. This approach is impressive in that it achieves a refined build without using a lot of materials while also delivering instant feedback as a result. Polyurethane strips are placed on the outer portions of the core, which does a great job at keeping the ski light while greatly reducing unwanted vibrations. We see a different application of metal here, with the previous model featuring a Rocket Frame laminate, the new layer falls more into the E-Cross's H-shaped Titanal laminate. The long, thin placement in the forebody and long, wide placement in the tails changes to a shorter shape in both front and back of the ski. This allows for easier mobility and release from the tails, which is quite the opposite from last year’s model. It also encourages easier entry into a turn with additional flotation and flex from the tip. Speaking to Dynastar’s vision of greater accessibility, this new M-Pro W 98 requires slightly less skier input and a more relaxed feel.

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2025 Dynastar M-Pro W 98

For the shape, we’re seeing a 1 mm drop in the waist width, which is essentially unnoticeable. However, where we do notice the change is in the turn radius and shape in the extremities. Dropping down from 18 meters in the 170 cm length to 16 meters, which significantly changes the character, with a turnier feel and more energetic performance. The tip gains 7 mm of width which is a decent change and delivers a smoother, more intuitive turn initiation. As for the tail, moving away from strictly business to a friendlier demeanor, Dynastar added more tail rocker to allow for better release in bumps or tight trees and a more balanced feel from tip to tail.

The brand-new M-Pro W 98 is taking on the 2025 season with a more approachable demeanor and friendlier shape while maintaining the high level of power and precision that has put it in the top tier of all-mountain skis. The metal-filled construction certainly holds up to the demands of aggressive skiers while the alterations made open up the audience to allow advancing intermediates to access its sweet spot.
