Delivering unlimited all mountain versatility and maneuverability, the Salomon Lumen 98 returns unchanged for the 2025 season, maintaining the same great build and shape that has proven its success throughout the previous year. Attracting a wide range of skiers, this ski is the ultimate crowd pleaser, inspiring confidence and progression for intermediate to advanced freeride ladies. As the middle of the road option in the women’s QST line, the Lumen 98 features a lightweight build that offers notable energy and pop while taking advantage of the double sidewall technology for stability and grip underfoot. The all-mountain shape combines early taper and deep rocker lines that encourage floaty, drifty performance in soft snow conditions. All in all, this highly versatile ski blends impressive on-piste strength with lightweight, energetic behavior off-piste for an all-around enjoyable ride.

It all starts with the high-quality build, focusing on the ideal strength to weight ratio. Creating a solid foundation, the full poplar wood core brings dampness and stability while keeping the weight down. Adding to the wood core, Salomon incorporates their C/FX blend which consists of vertical stringers of carbon and flax. This specific blend is mixed into a layer of fiberglass, enhancing the level of stiffness and strength while also maximizing the dampness. Performance-wise, this is particularly noticeable upon encountering variability in snow conditions and terrain at speed as it does a phenomenal job absorbing any unwanted chatter. Enhancing these qualities even further, cork damplifier is used in the tips which makes for an even smoother ride. The famous double sidewall technology that we see used in the rest of the QST line goes above and beyond to balance out the lightweight, agile feel by providing exceptional edge grip and power underfoot. When combined with the shape, given the shorter effective edge, this crucial construction element really enhances the torsional stiffness and amount of strength.
The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2025 Salomon QST Lumen 98We get a highly versatile and incredibly useful shape here with the Lumen 98. Featuring camber underfoot but with dramatic rocker in the tips and tails, this combination encourages precision where you need it and energetic maneuverability where you want it. Salomon also incorporated moderate early taper, shortening the effective edge while also creating a shorter turn radius. In the 168, we get a 15-meter turn radius, which allows for short to medium sized turns, as well as longer, smeary turns. Thanks to the 98 mm waist width, this ski will surprise you with how floaty it is. Speaking to its versatility, it is also highly capable of making powerful turns on groomers as well.
With several great options within the QST line, the Lumen 98 is certainly the most versatile all-mountain member of the family. With a fantastic blend of characteristics, plus some freeride flair, this ski makes a strong argument for a one ski quiver. From drifty pow turns to strong carves, this ski will build your confidence and take you anywhere you want on the mountain.
