Fischer’s Noize series for 2026 features the ST which is a detuned race ski with slalom turns on the brain. By utilizing their race department as a testing ground for their high-end recreational skis, Fischer does the on-piste world a solid here with the implementation of Noize. There’s not a huge drop in shape, style, and overall feel when you go from the WC to the Noize ST, so be prepared for more of an expert and high-end racer feel with these short-turning specialists. With a sturdy and confident construction and race-like profile, these skis are pretty unique in the ski world with deep trenches in mind.

Built with Fischer’s solid wood core and two sheets of metal, the Noise ST is off to a good start. One titanal layer is the thick .8 mm type while the other is .5. This is a lot of metal in a ski. Fischer then adds their Noize control technology to the mix in order to reduce chatter and keep the ski grounded and smooth throughout the carves. In this Noise ST, we get the Superflex binding plate with a Z12 binding, adding some leverage to the ski but not making it super-stiff like a race plate would. Tester Erik Timmerman states that “The Noize really does do what it says, gets rid of noise. Just like Stockli it makes the snow feel like it’s just been groomed. Loves ripping short turns, easy to change turn shape and slide the ski if needed. Actually, works pretty well in bumps too, so extra marks for versatility.”

Slalom shaping doesn’t leave a lot of wiggle room for all-mountain style or turn shape variation, and that’s just how these Noize ST skiers will like it. This ski uses measurements of 118/66/104 to generate a13-meter turn radius in the 165 cm length. With full camber and no taper, these skis are true tip to tail monsters when it comes to ripping short radius turns. While there’s not a whole lot of recreational/beer league slalom races, these are the skis that we’d choose for this application—maybe a tighter-set GS, but overall, these are firmly entrenched in the slalom world. Dave Raybould speaks to that racing mentality: “Nice graphic. Does exactly what you’d expect a beer league slalom ski to do! Stiff in the tail, you have to be intentional if you want the tail to break loose otherwise it’ll stay locked in the turn. Can still make a nice skidded short turn.”

These are going to be very satisfying for many skiers who are looking to make the most out of their short turn on-piste ski experiences. There does seem to be more of a need for skis like this either in Europe or in ski areas that have shorter runs, and you need to max out on turns. Here at Stowe, we have long runs and that can make for a very tiring experience if you’re carving to the ski’s true potential.
