The 2026 Stockli Laser SC gets a few updates with an emphasis on increased stability, precision, and performance. While this ski continues to be accessible, it does get a bit of a boost when it comes to the top end. We’ve always felt that there’s a lot to like about the SC, especially here in Vermont where we have a lot of firmer snow days. When you add Stockli’s commitment to making extremely smooth and poised skis, it makes it more attractive. While on the narrow side for all-mountain skiing, the 70 mm waist of the SC is surprisingly versatile, mainly due to the slightly more flexible nature of the ski. It’s an advanced and expert ski for sure as these skiers will get the most out of the ski.

The new build for this year includes a new core consisting of poplar and beech. They now use their race core in this ski with increased beech, so a stiffer flex overall and increased stability are the end results. In addition to this new core, we still get two sheets of titanal, fiberglass, and the rubber dust infused into the adhesive layers. Built with Flex Torsion Control, the ski can be more torsionally smooth between turns which increases the ease of use while keeping the ski more connected to the snow. The racing sidewalls are stiffer than others, adding stiffer vertical laminates to the mix. Tester Erik Timmerman gave it a 10 out of 10 for overall impression, noting that “The ski made it feel like the snow had been magically regrouped when I was switching skis. After just a few turns confidence was high. It does want to stay in a smaller turn, but this ski does make you say “ damn I’m good” when thought ski on it. easy to change turns and doesn’t feel like a runaway train. Maybe a little much for bump skiing.”

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2026 Stockli Laser SC

At 70 mm underfoot, this ski does border on the narrower side of the spectrum, increasing quickness, agility, and the ski’s ability to make clean and round shorter turns. The SC is happiest within its stated radius of 14.9-meters in the 170, but if you go up to the longer 176, that number does increase to 16-meters, allowing the longer lengths to take advantage of higher speeds and slightly more GS-oriented carves. This is a fully cambered ski and it gets a lot of its pep from that camber and its true tip to tail edge contact. Tester Mar Kuhnel, another skier putting a high 9/10 score for overall, states: “As usual, Stockli doesn’t disappoint. The Laser SC is a precise and powerful frontside carver that feels smooth and stable through pretty much all forms of groomer snow, which we have today! These were easy to turn but do require a higher edge angle to access the most performance.”

As usual, Stockli doesn’t disappoint.

It’s a smooth, quiet, and high-performance on-piste ski. It’s also quite pricey. These aspects somewhat limit the intended audience, making it a great choice for a somewhat select group. As a narrower part of a quiver, the SC is such a sweet ski. If you ski in an area in which firm and smooth groomers are the norm, you’ll likely be very happy on the Laser SC most or all of the days.

Thoughts
Groomers are where these shine. They do ok in soft groomed snow but in my opinion are too narrow, stiff, and traditionally cambered for powder, corn, etc.
Anything I would change would make this ski less appropriate for its intended use, so no!
