2027 Armada AntiMatter 92 W

The 2027 Armada AntiMatter 92 W is a fantastic all-mountain ski that is smooth, powerful, and graceful at the same time. There's a lot of precision here to go along with a stout overall feel, propelling advanced and expert skiers down all-mountain conditions and terrain. While the 92 W is a bit more at home on a groomer, it's still certainly got the width and shape to make it useful in an off-trail or more adventurous situation. Armada does a fantastic job in keeping these skis damp and stable while also adding quickness to the mix.

Built with a full poplar wood core, the big change for 2027 is the move away from Articulated Titanal Banding and into Speed Metal. They still keep most of the metal, but reduce the overall width and remove the elastomer material. This keeps the ski sturdy and stable, still, but adds a bit more mobility especially along the edges. We get full sidewalls with this ski and it's still pretty darn stiff in terms of overall flex. In the 164, the ski sits on the scale at a stated weight of 1765 g/ski, putting it right on track with most other top-end all-mountain skis across the board. Tester Mar Kuhnel states that "This would make a great all mountain ski for someone who likes to drive their skis and stay on the front of the boot. It’s got enough width for mixed snow/soft snow but held an edge really well on firm so you could carve some really nice turns if the conditions are firm like they were today. These were fun, stoked to ski them on a super firm day to test the new metal layup. Advanced to expert, someone who likes to drive their skis ski. Directional skiers, this isn’t a free ride ski as the tails are pretty flat, so it doesn’t want to slash like some others."

While the construction of the skis get some updates, the shape and profile return unchanged. We're still at 92 mm underfoot with 130 mm tips and 116 mm tails. That sidecut split creates a 16.5-meter turn radius in the 164. There's a good deal of camber in this ski, and not a whole lot of rocker or taper. That's by design, as Armada does not want to miss out on front side performance and energy due to camber. Tester Angely Mowbray notes that "From the moment I started down the hill everything clicked with this ski. I felt connected and one with it. It is a true all-mountain ski. Definitely you could cut through the trees with this ski like cutting through butter. Solid underfoot and unwavering absorption of skiing the ice on this particular day."

We have always been fans of the Reliance-based chassis and that will continue into 2027 for sure. By adding a more versatile construction to the mix, the AntiMatter 92 W provides a damp and chatter-free ride that is both versatile and confidence-inspiring. Testers have always loved the energy and pop due to the camber, and that's still here for sure. It's accentuated for this year, with a bit more of a lean towards adventurous skiing.
