2027 Nordica Enforcer 99

ski test sidebar

For 2027, the Nordica Enforcer 99 gets a new look but remains the same in terms of construction, shape, and profile. Thanks to Nordica’s success in the Enforcer department over the years, they’ve developed a keen sense of what skiers are looking for in the all-mountain and freeride realms. This ski blurs all-mountain and freeride lines very effectively, providing skiers with a capable rocker profile without dumbing down the carving and on-trail performance that is required of a pure all-mountain ski. The Enforcer 99 is arguably the most versatile and highest performing ski out there right now. It loves to be used in an on-trail format, and for experts, heading off-trail is on the radar, albeit not a priority.

Construction
Poplar/Beech Wood Core, Titanal, Sintered Base

Nordica uses a mix of poplar and beech in the wood core as it hooks into a thicker profile for increased power and stiffness. Underfoot, the ski uses Nordica’s pulse core laminate. This elastomer material is found in their double core skis like Dobermann and Steadfast and it works great to reduce vibrations and chatter in the Enforcer as well. The dual metal laminate is slightly narrower overall, pinching in 2 mm on either side, which is about the width of the edges. This slightly lightens swing weight and increases pep. In the 179, the ski sits on the scale at 2120 grams, so there’s still some heft here for sure, but it just feels lighter. Tester Jamie Morris states that the “99 is the sweet spot for an all mtn ski for me. And this ski would be it! All day, everyday east coast ski. Any advanced to expert will enjoy this ski. Please keep making this ski!”

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2027 Nordica Enforcer 99

While not dramatic in footprint, it is very effective and efficient. The shape brings life and versatility to the ski with tail rocker and a more central mount point. By increasing the tail rocker, they changed the center height of camber. As a result, moving the mount point forward to match that change, they add turning crispness to the ski. The 179 produces an 18-meter turn radius, so this thing likes to make very sharp and round turns on the groomers. With the added tail rocker, you can adjust your turn shape and style with greater ease and confidence. Additionally, this makes the ski feel more playful and accepts softer snow conditions and off-trail activities. Tester Hans de Boer claims that “The really rough chop at the top of Gondolier went really well. They went exactly where I wanted to even when transitioning between ice and powder. I think where the ski started to fall flat is when I wanted a little bit more dynamic, turning and wanted it to snap from left to right and vice versa. It had enough pop that they were fun, and extremely predictable. I like a ski that’s a little bit more playful. That’s gonna put me a little bit more on high alert if I mess up. But these are still a great ski.”

All day, everyday, east coast ski.

The 2027 Nordica Enforcer 99 is every bit as awesome as it’s been the past two seasons. Energy and quickness are the big themes here as the ski makes very short and round turns with ease while being amenable to off-trail adventure. This is still a very sturdy and powerful ski, so it’s best when on the feet of experienced skiers who know how to use it. Sizing down if you're caught in the middle is not a bad thing here, as Enforcer 99 has the chops to stand up to very aggressive skiing. While there’s not a lot of relaxation involved here, it is a confidence-builder for skiers who need stability and predictability.
