For 2027, Rossignol’s Nova 10 gets some updates that boost confidence and performance, but the overall on-piste vibe remains the same. The Nova 10 brings a smart approach to on-piste performance, with sophisticated design and race-inspired technology. Built and shaped for skilled skiers looking for a carving ski with enough versatility to go off-piste, the oversized sidecut and wider shovel is paired with positive camber and a 75 mm waist width, leaving you with the right amount of edge grip and maneuverability. Since most of us spend the majority of our time on-piste, this ski makes a lot of sense for a lot of skiers. While advanced level skiers will find its sweet spot, the proven shape and profile will allow for intermediates to have a solid tool for enhancing technique and gaining confidence. With consistent stiffness and a lot of pep, these skis are crisp carvers with fantastic edge grip.

The Nova 10 is built with carving performance in mind. This is great for carving enthusiasts looking to leave a mark on the trail. Starting the build off with a poplar wood core, energy and stability are established right away. Reinforced by a titanal beam, the degree of power is significantly enhanced, increasing edge grip, rebound and energy through the length of the ski. As a way of fine-tuning the flex, V-profile technology is incorporated to optimize each layer of material and boost overall performance. Carbon Alloy Matrix reinforcements are added to increase longitudinal and torsional stiffness throughout, maximizing the amount of energy and power. What is particularly impressive about the build is that the weight remains manageable while also keeping the ski planted to the snow. Tester Jana Ross notes that the “156 length was really fun to ski. Can’t beat the turning radius of 11. Easy to turn and playful yet stable at higher speed. Super fun carving on it.” That does make for an exciting day on the hill, having to constantly be engaged in a sporty manner.

It is more of a slalom feel. That 11-meter arc in the 156 is very race-like. For the shape, it’s plain to see where this ski belongs and that it is squarely in the front side category. That said, Rossignol utilized the oversized sidecut to broaden the applications a bit. Not only that, but it opened up the audience as well, which is always a good thing. The deeper sidecut combined with the 75 mm waist width provides high edge angles, as well as effortless maneuverability. With a wider shovel and slight tip rocker, turn initiation feels easy and smooth, while moderately variable snow conditions do not hinder performance. Generating an 11-meter turn radius in the 156 cm length, the Nova 10 prefers making nimble, energetic turns in short to medium arcs. Tester and former racer Megan Papineau calls it “such a fun groomer ski for advanced skiers who want to make nice carving turns but not too fast. These are not the ski for fast charging.” That short arc does keep you moving across the fall line for speed control for sure.
