Charging right back into the 2025 season, the Volkl Secret 102 returns unchanged but with new graphics, appealing to advanced to expert skiers for its strong, burly nature and impressively high-performance ceiling. We’ve seen this ski dominate the upper echelon of women’s all-mountain skis for some time now and we’re not seeing that change any time soon. While wider than 100 mm underfoot, it definitely performs like a race ski and does so with impeccable smoothness and stability. For high-speed skiing with total composure and power, the 102 can truly plow through anything with assurance. Best suited on the feet of either ex-racers or expert level skiers, it is most certainly on the heavy side and will overpower less skilled skiers. For those who have the legs and are willing to operate this machinery, the Secret 102 is a total dream.

Using their Mutilayer wood core, we get a blend of poplar and beech to achieve the unwavering sturdiness that sets the foundation. From there, Volkl adds a Tailored Titanal Frame, which goes a long way in providing edge grip and maneuverability. With a plate underfoot and two individual pieces that run along the sides and around the tips and tails, this ski is sharp and precise along the edges, which is immediately noticeable when up on edge and in a carved turn. When it comes to off-piste performance, the ski is flexible enough to be compliant and manageable. With Tailored Carbon Tips, torsional stiffness is enhanced in the forebody of the ski but at a lighter weight. This titanal frame features a narrower metal strip in this area, allowing the carbon to handle the stiffness without losing any initiation performance. Speaking to just that, Tester Megan Papineau, a strong, ex-racer, “Loved it! Shovel is fat and forgiving and ski is stable and maneuverable!”
The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2025 Volkl Secret 102At 102 mm underfoot, this ski falls right into the wider-bodied, all-mountain category. With a directional feel overall, the rocker and taper profile align with that, though it is a bit floatier than its narrower counterparts featuring the same characteristics. Featuring Volkl’s 3D radius sidecut, more emphasis is placed on a shorter cut underfoot with longer shapes in the forebody and tail. Generating a 15-meter shape in the 170, the more you place intentional pressure directly underfoot, the shorter the turn shape. However, if you choose to let it run at speed, the tips hit 21-meters and the tails 19-meters. For skiers who like to dictate their performance and switch up their turn shapes and styles, this is incredibly beneficial. Despite their willingness to do so, it’s important to note that it takes a strong skier to access this behavior.
The Volkl Secret 102 is a total powerhouse and continues to lead the charge as one of the most formidable skis in the women’s all-mountain category. While it’s certainly not for everyone, skiers with the required skillset and comfort level will love the level of performance and full-committal ride.
