For 2026, the Blizzard Phoenix R14 Pro gets a graphics refresh and remains one of the strongest and most confident carving skis in the women’s frontside line. Built with a strong wood core, two sheets of metal, and a whole lot of edge grip, these skis are ready to tackle the on-piste zones of the mountain. Best when used by an advanced or expert skier as well as former racers, the Phoenix R14 has a narrow waist that requires a certain balance point. Given the stiffness and responsiveness, the 70 mm underfoot width can feel twitchy if you’re not used to such performance.

Blizzard uses their TrueBlend Piste HP wood core to power this ski. This blends poplar and beech to create a strong and sturdy feel. The stringers are laid together to generate smoothness and stability without caring too much about weight—this is a hefty core for strong and aggressive carving. We get two sheets of metal in this ski to further the powerful feel, delivering smoothness and stability with a damp and precise feel. These skis use a TPX 12 binding system that sits on their Active Carbon Armor plate. These carbon strips sit in front of and behind the binding system basically putting downward force on the ski, keeping it attached to the snow with minimal bouncing. In the 165, the ski sits on the scale at a stated weight of 1640 g/ski without the binding.

The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2026 Blizzard Phoenix R14 Pro

In the 165, the Phoenix R14 Pro uses measurements of 121/69/102 mm to generate a 14-meter turn radius. This mid-range arc contributes tons of confidence and power to the edges and delivers insane edge grip due to the increased torsional stiffness. This ski does not use rocker as it’s a traditionally profiled ski with a lot of camber and zero taper. The tips and tails are the widest points, and they hook into the snow cleanly and smoothly to deliver race-like performance at a variety of speeds. The inspiration of the race world is quick and easy to see here as the Phoenix has a lot of influence from a pure Blizzard race room product. While these are more user-friendly in terms of shape, style, and application, there’s still a lot of race technology here.

As a result, the 2026 Blizzard Phoenix R14 Pro is best when used by a strong and competent skier who knows how to use their edges. These clean carvers are awesome on-piste skis but they don’t have a whole lot of use elsewhere. They are not particularly versatile or well-rounded. On the flip side, that means that they excel in certain areas, and in this case, it’s in firm and smooth snow and in clean and round carves.
