2027 Liberty Horizon 92

The 2027 Liberty Horizon 92 is a great choice for skiers looking for a lighter ski in this width range. These skis are capable of making quick and energetic turns to go along with a wider-bodied shape and more freeride style. Even though these are in the all-mountain division, there's enough rocker and taper here to deliver smooth and predictable performance in off-trail and variable snow settings. We have found the Horizon 92 to be a polyvalent ski that provides a good deal of performance for progressing and emerging adventure skiers.

Built with Liberty's Precision Core, the Horizon 92 uses a mix of poplar, bamboo, and ash. This mixture of wood creates a smooth and silent feel, almost as if you are insulated from the snow from a noise perspective. The bamboo acts as soundproofing to create a high-end feel. There's variable titanal underfoot that delivers a boost to the edge grip and adds to the damp overall feel of the ski but most notably in the central portion. They're on the flexible side, so if you encounter softer snow, they'll provide a lot of suspension to make it just that much easier to manage. Tester Angela Mowbray notes that "The Liberty Horizon is a unique looking ski and the performance matched. All mountain skiing will be had by the skier. It is versatile enough to handle ski cookies, ice and some decent spring conditions. I think it performs well to the fact it absorbed the different conditions with ease."

At 92 mm underfoot, the Horizon 92 has a good mix of attributes built in. There's an interesting taper shape here, with a wider portion brought down lower into the shovel. This spoony shape makes for good flotation and turn initiation as it increases the ease of both. These skis feature measurements of 130/92/116 which generate a 14.5-meter turn radius in the 159 cm length. This allows for quick and short turns in all sorts of conditions and terrain. The shape and footprint of this ski make it equally happy in bumps as it is on groomers, and while that's great for versatility, it also doesn't make the ski stand out in one particular zone. Tester Alli Ruschp states: "Out of the Liberty line up this was my favorite, but it's not a ski for me. It holds a good edge, but the lightweight construction makes it feel hollow and a little reactive to the crud. So close to having the edge control I like without the reactive lightweight deflecting effect."
